Warning: The 2003 Toyota Tacoma 4x2 V6 Crew Cab already has the intake in a pretty sweet spot. It looks like it gets cooler air from the front bumper. That being said, this intake by AEM looks better and sounds better. Gas mileage didn't increase by a whopping amount for this truck given the stock intake is in a good spot. So before you buy, see if it is an improvement on your intakes design better filter for sure (dry and more durable) but the point of these things is to grab cooler denser air.

I install the aem brute force in my truck. Its awesome, it really helped my truck, You can feel that engine is alot smoother and it has a better response. It Feel it gain some torque. On the fuel economy, it also made a difference, not alot like with the torque but im still satisfied. It looks nice and instalation, well it few minor adjustments, nothing mayor. The only thing was the price, i think it should be a little bit more cheaper but over all real satisfied!

This was a cakewalk from the time I placed the order to the last clamp I tightened. Hardest part was pulling out stock rubber grommets. Looks great under the hood.

water concerns

I have a 05 silverado I'm concerned about water getting into the engine. Does this come with a water shield? I know you also sell the bypass valve.

The intake bolts into the factory location so water ingestion is the same as your factory filter and will be safe unless you decide to ford a stream. Ok so I see the regular AEM brute force air intake, then there is the aem brute force air intake with power spacer. My question is what is the difference? Is the power spacer like a throttle body spacer? Or is it a throttle body spacer? 03 Dodge 2500 5.7L

“CARB” is actually an acronym for the California Air Resources Board. This board is in charge is controlling standards for emissions and manufacturing regulations in certain states. Therefore if a part is not "CARB-exempt," it may not be legal for highway use. If you want to find out if your state follows CARB restrictions, see here.

i have 97 chevy k1500 with 5.7L..was wondering if i got with this bruteforce intake system should i also buy a throttle body spacer too?

When you install a throttle body spacer, it will move the air intake over and potentially out of alignment with the mounting holes or leave no room for the kit in the engine bay.

You can install a cold air intake system without a tune because you ECU will gradually adjust the engines fuel mapping and spark timing to the best of its ability. The advantage of a programmer in addition to the intake system is that after programming, the ECU can make all of the adjustments to optimize efficiency.

I would expect around 3 HP with this kit. You may want to look into a cat back exhaust system if you dont already have one installed. It would probably be a better bang for your buck.
