Excitement and Disappointment

"The K&N filter only took 5 minutes to install. I was eager to hear the engine breathing better and it did not disappoint--when I floored it, the roar of air being sucked into the Hemi was exhilerating and got rave reviews from my passengers. On the negative side, once I quit punching it and went for increased mileage, it was not there, even with the MDS on the engine. In fact the best mileage I've been able to get has been 16.5 mpg. With the OEM filter I was getting 18.5 mpg on the highway. I imagine there are probably some tuning adjustments that need to be made which may require a power chip. At $55.54, it's pricy."

"I use k@n in every car I own--2008 Quest and 04 LS430 LEX I am hoping to get mpg improvement,I did on my 99LS400,I got a 4mpg in the city and a 3mpg on the hwy.As for power,the car already has what you need,there is an over all improvement in HP but not torque.The Quest improved in all lines with the K@N filter,Highly recommened..........."

"This is my second K & N filter, the other is on a Grand Marquis with approximately 120K on the filter. The present filter is on a 2008 Nissan Sentra and I am experiencing an increase ofabout 2 MPG. No appreciable impact on acceleration. Would buy again and will pay for the filter at about 60K on the car since the paper filters are about $20."

"Accord V6. The engine definitely breathes better. Feels like I lost a little torgue at low end, but makes up for it at mid and top end. Gunning it at 65 is like being shot out of a cannon! Surprisingly though, the car also shifts smoother now, which is a welcome plus. Honda correct ECU resetting: With cold engine, change filter, disconnect both battery terminals, touch together for 30 seconds, reconnect, positive then negative. With everything off, start car without touching gas, let idle to normal operating temp. That's it. Enjoy!"

"I think I picked-up a couple of HP and I know I picked-up about 2 mpg via my dash board gauge.I paid 47 dollars for it ,but it should be 40 dollars. But for a panel drop-in reusable filter, it is still a good price and of high quality. Mike"

"This air filter is great. I've had it for a few weeks and I have notice that my 08 Fusion has increased gas mileage but it also increased acceleration. I enjoy driving my Fusion and would recommend it to anyone."

"I needed a new air filter for a Chevy Venture and found a standard paper one in a parts store for about $30. I decided to wait a while to see if I could find a K&N filter online. I knew it would be more than the paper filter but, for only about $10 more I would have a filter that lasts forever!! I looked around on several sites and this site had the filter for the same price as everyone else with cheaper shipping. Installing the filter was difficult. That's not the fault of K&N, though. Chevy buries the airbox and it doesn't help being 20 outside at the time of installation."
