"I tipically buy one of these K&N filters for every car that I own. You can feel the difference once installed (although it's a small boost in power), but believe it or not it helps sometime reselling the vehicle as you point out that, among other features, the vehicle is installed w/ an K&N air filter which will never need to be replaced, just cleaned. You're getting a good investment for your money. Buyer, Michigan."

"I've put K&N filters in the last 5 cars I've owned. Depending on the engine, I've gotten better throttle response, deeper engine note, and between 2 and 5 mpg increase in fuel mileage. In my current car, a 2001 BMW M3, I've gained about 35 miles per tank, which for me is one extra trip to work and back before I have to refuel. When you consider their lifespan, they are almost underpriced."
