EXTREME POWER, EFFICIENCY & PERFORMANCE

Posted on 07/13/2006 by John B. - 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Kannapolis,NC)

"With gas prices going up I had to find ways to save. Many think that if you increase horsepower, you reduce gas mileage. True, unless you choose the right ways of increasing horsepower and still get better gas mileage. The AEM Brute Force Air Intake System, by allowing more airflow through the engine, although it increases horsepower (which is always great) actually INCREASES gas mileage because you are increasing the affectiveness and performance of the engine. Would recommend this product if you want both more horsepower and MORE GAS MILEAGE. John "

mixed feelings

Posted on 06/30/2006 by Dominic A. - 2003 Chevy Blazer (Perkasie,PA)

"the system itself seems to work well. I feel more power at 40MPH on.I think im getting better gas milage. I have been runing the A/c but I am getting milage that I would get as if the a/c wasnt on. THE BIGGEST problem is DIDNT get all the parts!!! I was and am still really mad 2 weeks had to go by till I got the 3 bolts that were missing. I had to call auto anything 3x till I got my parts about 10days later, not to mention that I needed the 3 bolts to attach it but I only still have the 2 they still didnt send the short one SO I guess I will be calling them again monday. I dont think I would buy something like this again for that reason. For the money I paid this shouldnt have happend. ofcourse the bolts that were needed were for the final part of the installation. GO FIGURE. its a nice system but I am really soured by all of this!"

2000 Dodge w/ Cummins

Posted on 06/28/2006 by Elton C. - 2000 Dodge Ram (Mount Vernon,WA)

"I put it in my 2000 Dodge Ram diesel. I haven't driven it enough since to see any fuel mileage gains or lack there of. There was a SMALL improvement in power. Also the turbo seems not to hesitate quite as much. And you can really hear it sucking air now! You hear the turbo a little more now.Looks pretty cool under the hood too! And as far as installation, a BREEZE!!!!!! It took, maybe, a half hour for the complete job. Pulling the stock intake out and all. Very easy. All the parts were there with it and everything. The only problem, "?", was the little rbber cap for the mounting bolt was too big for the bolt. No biggie! Over all, very satisfied."

Posted on 06/27/2006 by Fredric R. - 2003 Dodge Ram (Hampton,NY)

"I haven't had the system on the truck for too long yet, so I am not sure how it has affected mileage. It was simple to install; and I an a novice with this stuff. It makes the cat back system (Borla) rumble even more! You gotta love that! It also adds a slightly noticeable increase in performance when you step on it."

2001 toyota 4-runner sr5 4x4

Posted on 06/27/2006 by Jonathan L. - 2001 Toyota 4Runner (Marana,AZ)

"Intalls very easily. It took me 30-45 mins. Looks great. Power increase not to impressive. Maybe 2-4% low end,8-12% high end. That is just a guess. I think I can feel it it on low end. When you hit 3500-5000 rpm range you can feel power increase for sure, not major though. I think it will be a good help for pulling trailers and such. MPG increase was about 1-1.5 mpg in town. It is oiless that is a bonus."

Posted on 06/24/2006 by Daria H. - 2000 Chevy Silverado (Anchorage,AK)

"This is the best intake that I've found for a 5.3L 2000 Chevy/GMC truck. It alows for masive air flow and its a oilless filter, which is good because it wont void your waranty. It is also the most aftermarketable intake that Ive found, its not ridgid so it allows for either a throtle body spacer or larger throtle body."

Posted on 06/16/2006 by Lonnie W. - 2003 Dodge Ram (Weatherford,TX)
