a noticible improvement

Posted on 02/09/2006 by Richard K. (Seven Valleys,PA)

"easy install-works well added power though not considerable-does breathe better no noticible sound under 2000 rpm. added 1 to 2 mpg this is with the stock exhaust. a custom exhaust would certainly help altogether not a bad setup"

Great product. Install could have been easier

Posted on 02/08/2006 by Joseph B. (Oviedo,FL)

"After receiving my intake I immediately went to install it. Following the instructions I removed the factory intake and placed it aside. Installing the new intake was fairly simply however the directions were a little incomplete. Great product though and I would recommend it."

Performance Increase

Posted on 02/08/2006 by Robert S. (Houston,TX)

"The AEM Brute Force Cold Air Intake was very easy to install. Aside from the excellent appearance, the intake provides an unrestricted volume of air that increases mid-range and upper-end power! It's the best performance upgrade that can be made to any vehicle!"

"The Brute Force intake has made a tremendous power gain. I have noticed that mpg have increase by 1.5 mpg. I have noticed a greater performance increase with the Brute Force intake than I did with my hypertech programmer. Installation is easy but be prepared for a tight fit. Also installation only took about 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to increaser performance on their vehicle. One warning is that during hard acceleration your new vehicle will sound like an open 4-barrel which I like myself, but this may bother others. My only disappointment was that the unit I received had a wire mesh filter instead of the advertised plastic cage filter which is improved and is in the picture next to this article. This was answered by materials sometimes vary and we all know how we hate that kind of political answer. Hopefully someone at AEM will read this review and contact me to give a better explanation."

2005 Pontiac GTO AEM Intake

Posted on 02/06/2006 by Mark C. - 1999 Ford F-150 (Copperas Cove,TX)

"Under 30 minutes to install. Instuctions were not the best. Heat shield needs improvement. Even with the minor problems mentioned, this is the best intake. Very noticable power increase. Before install the car would spin tires in 1st gear and then when 2nd gear hit. Now the tires also spin when it hits 3rd. Fantastic for an automatic. I did a lot of research prior to purchase and I would recommend this intake over the others. It not only looks good but functions as well or better then the others. No oil to mess up the MAF sensor was also a plus. AEM knows how to manufacture a quality intake at a reasonable price."

"there has been noticable gain in performance from this product, especially in the 2000-3000rpm range in my 2005 silverado. I was wanting to see a increase in gas mileage, but have not yet, maybe because i use the pedal a little more now. overall, great product, no regrets at all."

Posted on 02/01/2006 by Daniel F. (Houston,TX)

"This thing sounds awesome in my Colorado Extreme. It was easy to install and looks great in my truck. I got the polished intake, but the silver one looks cool too. It also included the new Dry Flow filter which I really like. I notice a difference in power immediately. Once again, very fast delivery from Autoanything.com"

V-10 Brute Install

Posted on 01/28/2006 by Bradley W. - 2002 Ford F-250 (Atascosa,TX)

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"It is nice to receive a kit with everything included for the install. Instructions were straightforward and simple. All the components fit without any real tweaking necessary. I found it curious that the MAF adapter was smaller than the MAF opening. The game is about airflow, right? The PCV hose could be re-thought, a pre-formed hose would be nice. All in all, easy install. If gas mileage is improved slightly, well worth the price..."

I like the AEM Bruteforce, but...

Posted on 01/27/2006 by Josh F. - 2004 Dodge Ram (Columbus,OH)

"With my 4.7L Ram there is no "ease" in the installation. I don't know what I expected, but I had to jack the truck up, remove the front passenger side tire, and then remove the wheel well, all just to get the airbox out. Like I said, I don't know what I expected, but to me that was a huge pain. That said, it sounds awesome and I've seen about a 1mpg increase."

I can't tell about the mileage yet as I seem to have my right foot a little heavier on the pedal lately just for the fun of it!"

What more can you ask for?!

Posted on 01/19/2006 by Joshua S. - 2003 Dodge Ram (Chino Hills,CA)

"Looks good, Sounds great, Improved gas mileage, and increased HP. I wouldn't believe it if someone told me, but when driven softly, I'm getting a 33% increase in gas mileage on the highway. City it's more like 15%-20%. You can hardly hear it until you give it some gas, then it really growls - it sounds awesome around 3500 - 4000 RPM. You can feel the additional HP, but I have yet to DYNO. It also looks good in the engine compartment. I should have purchased it long ago - it would have already paid its self off 50 times over. Signed, No Joke"

Very Nice!

Posted on 01/19/2006 by Todd J. - 2005 Dodge Ram (Perry,OK)

"I really love this system. I'm an old school car guy, so modifying a new vehicle is a little scary to me, especially when I'm paying for the vehicle. I have a '05 Hemi Ram with a Flowmaster cat-back system. I recentley installed the AEM kit with no problems at all, very easy! A couple of the pics in the instructions were different than my vehicle, but no big deal. I think I've picked up a couple mpg, and it adds a cool little roar when you romp on it. Very nice product, thanks guys!"

I really like the dry filter

Posted on 01/19/2006 by William H. - 2000 Ford F-250 (Cotulla,TX)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The dry filter concept is great. I am getting 1-2 more miles per gallon. The instructions were good but kinda fell off towards the end of the installation. I have two minor problems with the air intake tube. The two bends in the tube need to be a few degrees more to allow a stress free fit. The tube and couplings are in a bind both at the turbo and the filter. A few more degrees of bend in the tube would increase the lifespan of the couplings and also keep the fiter clear of the battery box. The support tang on the side of the tube needs to be moved a little. I could not fully seat the bolt without putting the whole tube in a bind."

AEM Brute Force Dry Flow for '01 Super Duty 7.3L

Posted on 01/18/2006 by Christopher D. - 2001 Ford F-250 (Ft Sheridan,IL)

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The intake came very quickly, even before I was notified of shipment. Installation was relatively easy, even at night with a flashlight (I'm a bit impatient at times). I have the 7.3 Liter Power Stroke engine, and had installed a Banks Power Pack prior to this installation. There is more noise from the turbo that can be heard in the cab, but it is due to the straight, uninterrupted air flow and the reduction/removal of the factory baffles. Overall, I'm pleased with the system."
