Description

Stop that stock intake from strangling your vehicle’s performance. AFE’s Cold Air Intake System delivers seat-of-your-pants power gains and lets you to choose performance and filter options.

Depending on the performance needs of your engine, AFE replaces restrictive stock parts with custom-tuned components. Most kits include an AFE performance filter of your choice and all come with a powder-coated steel heat shield to keep the air flow cool.

And, it gets better. Some kits actually replace the entire stock intake system. Your engine gets the maximum, most efficient air intake possible—monster gains of up to 50 horsepower! What’s more, AFE Air Intakes work with your other performance upgrades to bring out the best your engine has to offer.

Every AFE Cold Air Intake includes the filter and everything needed to optimize performance. And, the bolt-on design only takes about half an hour to install. Plus, your AFE Cold Air Intake Kit is backed by a Lifetime Warranty.

Notes

  • Some vehicles achieve maximum performance with minimal components. If certain elements are not available for your vehicle, it is likely you will get the best possible power increase with the available upgrade and your stock intake tract.
  • AFE Cold Air Intakes are designed to be 50-state street legal. Intakes for ’05 and older vehicles should come with a CARB certification. Intakes for ’06 and newer vehicles are generally still undergoing CARB certification.

"I installed the intake 2 weeks ago and it was a good investment. Provides a more performance sound with WOT and offers quicker acceleration. Have not checked MPG, but I am going to assume there will be a slight increase. The fit is pretty good, however the hose they provided me was not long enough. Easy fix though. Picked another one up for $3. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would buy AFE again."

"The installation would have been easier had the intake not been previously opened and all of the parts included in the box. I was missing the large clamp for the filter as well as a small clamp for one of the hose endings. The overall quality and performance is good. Definitly a boost in power and mileage. I would reccomend this to other buyers providing all of the materials are provided. I have never had an issue before with AutoAnything otherwise I would have sent it back.- Matt"

"This was easy to install. Instructions were not the best but it was easy to figure out what to do. The sound of my Tundra is awesome and it looks nice. Contrary to popular belief i have not had a check engine light come on at all. I did not even pull the negative battery cable to reset the computer. I think you just need to be careful with the MAF sensor when your taking it off of the stock intake tube and remembering which way it was facing."

"It took my buddy and I way longer to install the intake than we had previously assumed. But that was only because of some rusted screws. Once we got it all hooked up the sound is noticeably different, especially when the engine is around 2500 rpm's or higher. The best results I am getting is when I am driving on the highway at already higher speeds. But the only drawback is that I think I lost some quickness when accelerating from a standstill. But overall it sounds great and makes the car run so much smoother."

"Very easy to install. I bought a new AIT sensor so I wouldn't have to take it out if I needed to place the factory intake back on for warranty work. Loosen a couple of clamps and a bolt and unplug the AIT sensor and remove in one piece. Piece of cake. I got better mileage also. Just have to keep my foot out of the throttle. Love it. Kurt"

"It only took 15 minutes to remove the stock filter and install the AFE Stage 1 filter. The only problem was the 90 degree fiting that goes into the air intake and connects with the 1/2 inch hose that goes back to the intake manifold. It was too small and fell out of the hole. The good news is that AFE customer service sent me the correct part over night and I installed it in 1 minute to complete the job. I can hear the induction noise (nice sound) and feel more power from the engine."

"Put this in my Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ). Holes did not line up good enough for the price you pay. It also sits too high and pushes up on my hood. Keeps the hood from closing even with the rest of the body. For the price they want for these things, it should fit better than what this one did."

"Install was pretty straight forward, no major issues. I wasn't able to install one of the heat shield mounting bolts because the holes were misaligned with the factory holes on the truck, so I only have two of the three bolts installed. I think the hood should keep it from vibrating, so no biggie. One of the easier intakes I've installed and sounds mean at wide open throttle."
