"I recently installed the AFE stage 2 kit on my 1999 GMC 1500 5.3L. Overall it is great. Exaust is a little louder and throttle response is imporved. So far I have not seen any improvement in MPG, but I just installed it a week ago. So for it seems to be helping the gas milage. Horsepower has a noticeable difference. It was definitely worth it."

"I can not believe the extra mileage i am getting by installing this filter. my ford ranger has the 3.0 v-6 but with gas prices i wanted to do all i can. i went from 24 mpg to 27 mpg. that is almost 60 more miles per tank. i was so impressed, i ordered another for my father in law. tim sevierville, tn"

"I am very pleased with the afe cold air system so far. The most apparent difference in my truck is the sound and the acceleration. I already had added a flowmaster dual exhaust system and now the sound is mellow just like I want it. I haven't noticed any increase in the gas mileage yet. I also love the way it accelerates. It's even more fun to drive now. The system also looks good under the hood. My mechanic installed the system in less than 30 minutes. It's a better looking system than the K&N that I had on my 06 Dodge dakota. This 5.7 engine in the Tundra accelerates like a spots car."

"I recently installed the filter and is great. The directions could be a liitle better in viewing and readind. I was able to install it in about a hour. I have a G35 and still wanted to keep the luxury appearence without the over sized mufflers. The acceleration has improved dramtically and the sound has a nice growl when needed. It sounds normal when you lightly step on the pedal, but when you punch it, the sound is like a aggressive race car. The speed is nice and so far the gas has improved by a few miles. A great choice. Speed, power, toughness, in a cool luxury sport car.Try it, you will like it....."

"A very good looking , well edgineered product. The directions are not great, but anyone who would buy this product dosen't really need them. I thought the two screws that held the air flow sensor in place could have been longer, but they worked. I have only run one tank of gas since I put the air intake on, but it seems that I have picked up about 1.2 mpg. I am very pleased. Well worth the money."

"My 2008 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter V6 can now breathe. The stock intake box had only a 3" diameter hole opening at the base of the box. The only air came from this 3" opening. The AFE set up has not only incoming air from the front grille/headlight area but also from the fender well. Add to that the stock 3" opening and you have a lot of air. The engine also has a throatier sound. With the improved throttle response I'm sure there is a signifcant increase in HP. Thanks...............Frank "

AFE stage2 intake (pro dry s) AUDI A4 1.8t B6

"First, this intake is for LATE '02 thru '05.5 B6 a4's.
My A4 was an early '02 so it required a bit of modification for proper fitment and function.
The use of the factory lower air box and air duct maintains "cold air" supply and helps retain a clean look in the engine compartment. The large composite intake pipe W/mass air fitting and large filter really help improve air flow. Installation is not very easy for the average diy'er. But can be done in about 1 to 2 hrs (early '02 needs add. parts). Effect: bit louder engine, Diverter valve can be heard. Smoother torque and throttle (seat of pants) Con: audible "whislte" around 2k @ light throttle. Overall: challenging install. Great results, great price."

"This is a great intake. I have a lot of experience modifying BMWs,particularly the e46 3 series. Ive owned 4 different cold air intakes, each $400+. Though the AFE doesn't offer some of the more modern aesthetics that many tuners do, such a carbon fiber shield (GruppeM), the kit really is something else. However, performance-wise I think this may be the best intake for the 3 series. And at 350ish its a great buy. This kits offers additional shielding that you can't find in conforti or ecis. If you are a performance buff that likes a good looking intake the AFE intake is a must. And Auto-anything does provide it at an incredible price."

Good Choice for the Honda Ridgeline

"Purchase: I bought this intake because in summer weather, the Ridgeline needs a little extra power, and because it has a cover over the top, which I thought might prevent water from entering the intake (It's open on the back side). Also, it was the least expensive. The shipping was free, it took about a week (surprisingly, it took several days to "fill" the order and for me to get a UPS tracking number).
Installation: The directions were barely adequate, leaving out some little steps such as adding lock washers to the bolts, but with only three pieces to work with, I got it done in about an hour. The box sits right up against the metal fender, and the shape is a few millimeters off, so I had to force it a little, which scraped the inside of the fender (no will will see, its behind the air box).
Performance: It sounds good, its barely any louder under normal diving, but really gets loud under full throttle, and loudest when the VTEC kicks in at about 4000 rpm."

"Overall it looks good and sounds pretty cool. I was not aware that I would hear the vaccuum after I installed it. There was only one problem, and that was that the box slightly dented the brace in the hood. About a dime size and it did not go through the hood itself, but I will have to rust proof the ding. There is increased gas mileage on the freeway, no doubt about that."

"I purghased this air intake for my 2008 Dodge Charger 3.5L. There has been nothing but A plus all the way through.
I tell you,
This one single mod will do a whole for engine. I can actually feel less restriction from my engine when I step on the gas. I feel more torque in the lower rpm's and not to mention, the engine has a deeper growl when accelerating. This mod has been an all around plus for the 3.5. It is well worth it."

AFE Cold Air Intake - 2006 LJ Wrangler

"This intake was labeled 1997-2005 Wrangler TJ, but I purchased it anyway figuring on a misprint. Nope. Not a misprint. The air dam needed a slight modification to widen the opening for the AC line, and I gently bent the footing to align it with the factory mounts. Those mods took maybe ten minutes, then everything fit perfectly. The additional performance increase was immediate! I drove up the winding highway to Cripple Creek shortly afterward (over 10,000ft before dropping into the town), and the engine performed amazingly, in 5th and 6th gears nearly all the time, and never lower than 4th for the climb. My gas mileage has improved by 2-3mpg as well. Awesome!"
