"i read other reviews before i purchased my AFE intake, and some of them were saying that it made a difference in the sound! i didnt understand how that could be, but it definately made my exhaust rumble a little deeper.and, the throttle response and overall GITTY UP is well improved. if you have the 5.4 engine, i highly advise that you get a cold air intake, you will love it."

"I love my intake it was very easy to intsall with the step by step directions and pictures with them it only took abouit half an hour to install. Like i said it sounds great and it gives noticable hp and i also got a good amount of gas with it. The blue filter also looks really nice with my car. I can't wait to take it down to the race track and drag aginst some muscle and show em what a nice import can do. =)"

"I have had my CAI for a few weeks now and I think it was a good purchase. I was hoping to let the motor breath easier with it and it has been great. I picked up 17 miles per tank so far. It sounds great too."

"I installed the AFE Cold Air Intake in about 45 minutes. Everything was a factory fit and easy. The response and sound are instant. My 4Runner now jumps, not creaps up to speed. I highly recommend the AFE Cold Air Intake. I added a Magnaflow exhaust system, and the only thing I can say is WOW, what a difference! This truck screems! The sound is big and throatee when you jump on it, but quiet when cruising. AutoAnything has got my business, they have it all!"

"Install instructions could have been a bit better. The photo guide has some photos of very poor quality. Instructions such as "pull vacuum connection off" are inaccurate. There is a tab on the vacuum hose which has to be squeezed to remove it. I figured it out after several unsuccessful pulls. Fortunately, I didn't damage anything. Secondly, the instruction to remove the grills by simply pushing out on them shows that the person who wrote the instructions never tried to do this. There are several tabs going around the grill that are impossible to disengage to remove the grills! With difficulty, I installed the scoops without removing the grills. I fail to see how the scoops help since the box which holds the filter has a huge opening on the bottom which is open to the engine compartment! Having said that, the car appears to be more responsive, although this may be purely psychological."

"Had some fitting chellenges on my 2004 G35 Coup but got it in. The response is great. It's quite but nice power sound when stepping on the peddle and above 3000 rpm. Will buy again"

"I really like the looks of the AFE and the dry filter. This is definetely the best intake for the 4.7 V8. The lid for the AFE has changed to a solid black lid and I personally like it better than the silver. I paired my AFE with a B&G tune for a little extra grunt. Great combo!"

"Installation was pretty simple, got the intake with a $25 manufacturer rebate. As for rating I installled it with a kinetix velocity plenum so I cannot for say how much performace enhancement was added but Im sure it it was signficant looking at the stock intake and filter which looks very air restricting."

"I bought the Torque Booster tube and Pro Dry S Air filter and here is what i thought. Pros: Filter-great fit and no prolem with it at all. Doesn't need to be oiled. Intake Tube-Look stock. Sounds great. Quick and easy to install. Cons: Intake Tube- Needed to be cleaned on the inside because there was debris in there. There's no bracket for the radiator hose. I installed this on my 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ with the 5.3L Flex Engine."

"Sound is a little better at idle and noticeably louder at high RPMs. Definite increase in horsepower, especially around 4000 RPMs. Not sure if the gas mileage has improved any. Overall I thought it was worth the money."

"The install took about 20 minutes...would have been faster if instructions were more detailed. I have more low end power/torque which is nice...breathes alot better now. Great buy!! Worth the money."

"Looks great and seems to work well so far. Directions are horrible and incomplete; they don't show good pictures and skip multiple steps, they were not even accurate. Seems very expensive for a plastic replacement part, where the K&N is steel and seems much more durable and stable. Great service from Auto Anything, delivery was prompt."

"Great product.. Very easy installation except for the the air flow sensor. The whole need to be opened slightly more to get the bushing and sensor in the whole! It add the missing the add extra pep the engine has!"

"Shipment a little slow as it was on back order. Installation is easier than the instructions were to follow, common sense. Asked AFE to email me instructions before hand so I could preview them and they sent it right over in PDF and you could zoom in on the pictures, very helpful. First noticed a total change in the sound of my flowmaster exhaust. Much deeper, throatier sound. Faster throttle response from stand still and quick at passing speeds.The sound is very mellow at cruising speed, no drone, but when you drop the hammer heads will turn. Very cool product especially when paired with a performance exhaust. Auto anything is a great company and they now get all my business."

"WOW!!! I can feel the difference and it sounds mean when I get my foot in it. I only had one problem with installation: I trimmed the crankcase breather hose before I installed the engine cover. But luckily Auto Zone had plenty to spare. Caution to all shadetree mechanics; dont trim anything until it's all back together!"

"Its a great product. I love the initial sucking sound when you start your vehicle and the low growl when u accelerate. Gas milage is noticeably better and thats with me mashing the pedal. Installation was simple untill the rubber tube attachment which was extreamly tight fitting but an obvious reason. Overall I highly recommend it."
