"Bought the AFE based on the reviews from this site and from Tundra HQ. I liked the fact that it was set up to take the sensor whereas the Volant was not. I thought it installed quite easily and the appearance is very nice. I will say this for those that like the quiet of the Tundra; it definitely makes a difference in sound. I watched the videos on Tundra HQ and thought it sounded not much louder, not the case. It is only louder when you get on it, but it is definitely noticeable. Once I had it on for a week or two, I was accustomed to the sound and don't mind it so much any more, but initially I did. My opinion on the difference in power is that it truthfully did not seem to make a difference in the lower rpms but does seem to somewhat in the higher rpms. Overall, a bit spendy for the perceived difference but an easy install and very nice look under the hood."

"i like it alot, i can notice a little more power when i get on it now....the installation was not bad but the intake tube kept hitting the fan so we had to trim it up just a bit...other than that it is a great product!! i think all pickups should have an AFE intake system!"

"2008 Tundra 5.7 crewmax. I inatalled JBA dual side exhaust, airaid throttle body spacer and AFE Cold air intake all in the same day. Its hard to tell if they helped the performance because the truck ran so good before. I have not even used a full tank of gas yet to tell if my milage went up. I am happy with every thing except the throttle body spacer. Just looking when I installed it, the spacer looked smaller than the ventura of the throttle body. I am going to run it for a month then pull it out and run it for another month without the spacer. Opp's the AFE cold air intake installed great, everything fit just like it should and took less than an hour to install. I recomend AFE."

"I can definetly tell the differents in the sound in the exhaust system that I have. It was a little difficult installing. The instruction need to be written better. I was supposed to get a blue, top of the line filter, but I didn't. They sent me a white one. I read quite a few reviews prior to buying and noticed that this was a trend. If you are not going to send the blue filter when that's the one that the customer asks for, DON'T advertise it. Seems to me as if it is a scam for you to make more money."

"what a difference! I have a Gibson dual exhaust and poweraid throttle body spacer as well as the intake. My tundra not only growls now, which I love, but I averaged 24 mpg on a long highway trip recently. Average stock highway mpg is 19. I would recommend this to anyone that wants better all around performance and wants and aggressive sound. Definitely not quiet."

"connection to the stock intake on engine was a little bigger than it should have been. The cover for the filter box did not fit proper and needed some adjustments. The directions recieved in the box were for a cadilac V8 instead of the chevy pu. no matter. install was easy if your mechanically inclined at all. thanks"

"I bought the stage 2 intake. After installing the unit I found out that it hit the hood. The hood fits tight and puts pressure on the hood. The Intake could fit better. I asked for 2008 and the package fits 2005 and 2006. Over all works great not better in gas mileage yet. But more hp."

"I have a 2008 Scion XB 2.4L .The afe intake was easy to install. and looks good. BUT.. 1st I saw that the afe stiker is upside down . 2nd I see that I have lost low end torque. 3rd gas mpg did not get better, maybe worse ? 4th I see a gain in horsepower after 3200 rpm's . Over all not a big advantage !"

"Instructions were not very specific. Parts list included four bolts with no nuts which left me no means of securing the mass airflow sensor housing to the air filter box. The IAF sensor would not connect to the intake manifold. I would have had to turn the hose about 90 degrees putting a kink in it which would not have worked well. The manifold did not sit well after connecting to the throttle body. It sat up too high on top of the radiator hose, and it was at the wrong angle so my air filter would have been sitting almost on top of the windsheild washer fluid. After 4 hours of fighting with it I finally gave up and reinstalled the factory parts. K&N intake is already on order..."
