Description

Stop that stock intake from strangling your vehicle’s performance. AFE’s Cold Air Intake System delivers seat-of-your-pants power gains and lets you to choose performance and filter options.

Depending on the performance needs of your engine, AFE replaces restrictive stock parts with custom-tuned components. Most kits include an AFE performance filter of your choice and all come with a powder-coated steel heat shield to keep the air flow cool.

And, it gets better. Some kits actually replace the entire stock intake system. Your engine gets the maximum, most efficient air intake possible—monster gains of up to 50 horsepower! What’s more, AFE Air Intakes work with your other performance upgrades to bring out the best your engine has to offer.

Every AFE Cold Air Intake includes the filter and everything needed to optimize performance. And, the bolt-on design only takes about half an hour to install. Plus, your AFE Cold Air Intake Kit is backed by a Lifetime Warranty.

Notes

  • Some vehicles achieve maximum performance with minimal components. If certain elements are not available for your vehicle, it is likely you will get the best possible power increase with the available upgrade and your stock intake tract.
  • AFE Cold Air Intakes are designed to be 50-state street legal. Intakes for ’05 and older vehicles should come with a CARB certification. Intakes for ’06 and newer vehicles are generally still undergoing CARB certification.

"The intake fit very well in almost every way until the end when I had to put the cover on. For some reason they carelessly drilled the holes in the metal plate so they didn't line up with the screw holes. I just drilled them out larger and used washers, but for the large price tag I would expect more. The unit sounds great, and there is definitely some power increase in the higher rpms, although there may also be some torque loss in the low end. I haven't completely decided if I like it or not. I haven't had a chance to try and exchange the cover plate yet. Hopefully AutoAnything will be able to get one that fits without me having to remove the entire unit."

"Ok, this thing was by far the hardest of the 6 intakes I've installed on my own cars in the past years. The plastic tube is cheesy looking and too long. It also keeps the "beauty cover" from snapping all the way down, and everytime I open the hood it has moved. Instructions were complete, it's just a bad design for the heat shield mounting. The sound, however, is very good. I have seen an improvement of 0.8-1.1 MPG on long fast freeway drives, but not during average driving. In my opinion, this is very expensive for a plastic tube! Overall I would definatly go with the AEM intake. The tube is aluminum, it also sports a dry filter, and it looks a million times better whith the hood up."

"The best thing about it is the sound when the waste gate opens! That was worth half the price. I didn't notice seat of the pants performance gains, and I dont drive for mileage. put it on a 7.3 powerstroke."

"$220 with cleaning kit. Fairly easy to install. Difficulty removing one of the vibration bolts (due to location). Once I literally pulled the housing off of rubber and bolt, easy to unscrew. Subtle improvement. Lower idle [around 600rpm after warm](more air) without extra vibration of truck. Applying similar amount of force on the gas pedal as previously, I'm able to identify a small increase in torque, and a smoother transition into higher gears. This implies an extra amount of horsepower. Haven't consumed full tank to document fuel efficiency. If I get extra 1 mpg [according to previous reviews], at $2.50/gallon (for now), I should break even in around 18 months (versus $350 for K&N = almost 3 years). Better value for the price."

"Very pleased with my purchase. Easy to install. Less than a hour. Everything fit as it should. You can tell it was well thought out. Very professional looking. I haven't driven it far enough to tell about performance, but I would say it does have more power. Highly recomended."

"Pretty easy to install, but had to drill one additional hole in baffle for easier fit. This intake is very loud, even compared to other similar ones. There is a harmonic at full throttle/4000 rpm that has to be over 90db in the cab. Try a fully enclosed system if you're sensitive to the noise."

"installed 11-26-09 real easy job. first noticed that its real nice looking unit, started vehicle and was shocked by the sound of power that came out. it is a little louder than stock. i can hear it inside the truck but only when i stomp on the gas (2009 avalanche), gas mileage - dont know yet need to go on road trip, but easier to breath usually means better gas, again, super easy to install, love the product. shipping was long time chris h."
