"I recently purchased one about a week ago for my intake. I live in Minnesota, so you can never tell how much rain is gonna come. At first I didnt think that something like this would work as well as it does. It was easy to put on, even though I have an AEM intake, the appearance is really nice, and it does its job so well. It is in the middle of winter here now and all the slush and dirt gets kicked up from the road when the snow melts and the hydro shield works well to keep my filter clean, and the hydro shield itself stays clean too. So no matter what brand intake you have, you should think about getting one of these if you are worried about engine damage caused by hydrolocking. They are cheap, stylish, and they do do there job."

"I got this to help out in the winter(I live in North Dakota), and it's done a great job so far. It's on a AEM V2 on a '98 accord 2.3L VTEC and doesn't suck in much at all when you rev it out. Point being, air flows through it quite nicely.
It does what it's supposed to do at a fair price. Not a whole lot more you can ask for. I'll probably get a couple extra.
Be sure to measure just the filter element and not the whole filter assembly when you're selecting a size."

"Just installed on my Injen intake on my 09 Lancer 2.0 NA (SP1835BLK)
That CIA runs into the Lancer's front bumper, and behind the left fog light, so it is exposed to water on wet days, and this seems to hold up great!
There is a good touring-track like road here, and last time it rained I took it out for a spin. The filter ramained dry, because the Hydro Sheild repled all the water.
It doesnt seem to block any air, and it also works like a filter for your filter, keeping dust off of it as well.
5*s"

"I installed the hydroshield on my RSX's CAI, which is a must because the filter is exposed to water through the lower bumper where the foglights would be. It fits over the filter well and water just beads off of it."

"I ordered the large pre-filter hoping it would fit over my Volant filter element on my Dodge. It turns out the Volant element is larger than I thought and the pre-filter is rather small. I doubt it would fit over most of the large cone filter elements so I am giving it to a friend with a Toyota."

"I bought this product to use on a Cobb Short Ram Intake on a MazdaSpeed6. I had been worried about mist getting into the inlet air while driving behind another vehicle. Had a problem with the car starting after a food stop during a leg of a trip with a torrential downpour. Feel better now that I have the Hydroshield. Haven't had the same problem but haven't driven through the same type of storm.
The size I purchased was just big enough to fit over the bottom of the intake filter. So much so that I was worried about the hydroshield slipping off. It never has but given the chance I think I would buy one that was longer than needed so I could use the screw-clamp to secure it."

"The Hydro Shield is a must have when you have an intake. The power of the intake can suck water and other particles into the filter. If you do not want damage to your car caused by foreign objects, you need to purchase this shield"

"I put it on like a 2 weeks ago, and it has been raining for days, and that just made me feel more confident with driving at rains even worse weather. Even with a shield on the filter, i can still hear the "woooshhh" sound when I rev it, dont feel like i lost any hp at all, feels and looks great!!!! love it, Its a must have for those people who have cold air intake!!!!! recommended 5/5 stars product!"

"The Injen Hydroshield does what it needs to do...repell water from the air filter. It won't effect performance in any way, and the extra protection it provides from water splashes and other debris is worth the money. Even if you don't have an Injen intake, the hydoshields will fit any air filter on the market. I have an AEM V2 intake with a dry flow filter and mine fits nice and snug."

"The product looks nice but I'm not sure why they call it a Hydro shield. Stuck in under the faucet and water went right through it. I'm not sure how this product will work against a hard splash. It does not serve the same purpose as a bypass valve. You still have to be careful of the deep puddles after rain and such. For $25, it's not a bad buy to protect against spray and minor splashes."
