This is probably the 5th air filter I have purchased from K&N. Have always been happy with them. This one was hard to install as the thickness of the gasket area is thicker than the stock filter. Actually only got one of the two clamps to work but is still OK. This filter has helped the terrible gas mileage on a Mitsubishi Montero by 1-2 MPG.

only had my K&N filter in for a couple weeks, so I can't say if there is any difference in fuel economy, but I would say that I do feel an increase in HP, especially in those doggy 1st and 2nd gears. Could be imaginary, but somehow I don't think so, my wife agrees it feels peppier. For this car the filter was easy to install, but it was harder than I imagined to get the cover to snap back in place on the air filter since the rubber gasket on it is thicker and firmer than what was on the previous fram filter

Well, ive read that they dont let more air through or clean better, but, they will save you money by not purchasing OEM ones again and again.

This is a great air filter. I have used it for 2004 Montero and seems to have more smoother ride from stock filters. Really cant tell about the mileage gain though !! But seems to have smoother acceleration. About Auto anything.com - They rock!! My order arrived nest day front of my door. Keep up the good work..

I know mine is not common. But since installing my K&N air filter in my Montero limited, my gas mileage went from 17mpg to 21.3mpg. I am very happy with the results.
