Unable to install the K & N filter due to poor design of the mounting surface of the filter. It was too tight (small) to fit over the engine air intake. The filter should have a larger curved lip to assist in locating and slipping on to the intake piece. I returned the filter unused.

As with all K&N products the filter is made well and does give a noticeable power increase. It is however almost impossible to install. It required cutting and reshaping to attach it to the air box.

There expensive up front but cost less in long run. Have better air flow and the concept of oil and filter element trapping smaller particles is great.

Filter looks good, solid construction, it was pretty easy to install (15 minutes. It is my first K&N filter, I am looking forward to see it perform.

What a pain this was, I tried repeatedly to fit it to no avail. Trying to get a flexible tube into an tight space is not a good design. It should have had a more solidly constructed mating collar than the rubber one that it comes with. Never again.

The design is poor. I was unable to install the filter because the rubber flange that mates to the airbox is poorly designed and is impossible to stretch enough to fit over the airbox flange especially with the metal coupling band in place. Save your money...buy something else!

Excellent filter, need to expand the opening of filter for an easier install (that should be in the directions). Easy install after that was learned.

I have several replacement air filters from K&N and have been very pleased in the past. The design for my Boxster was impossible to install due to the flexable connection end. I can access only one side of the oval air filter because of the mid engine design and cold air box. The filter connection would not retain its shape to slide onto the intake duct. Porsche solved the problem by making the connection end rigid plastic in the correct shape and size. I gave up on the K&N filter and easily reinstalled the OEM filter. K&N needs to modify their design.

As a direct replacement for the OEM filter, I was surprised that the install was not as easy as you would think. Getting the flanged portion of the filter to conform and fit over the mating portion of the housing was a bit of a task as the tolerances are quite tight and the filter wants to deform if forced making the task that much more difficult. It also would be nice if the clamp provided was a little longer. Working in the cramped quarters of a mid-engined vehicle does not afford much in the way of excess space to maneuver in and a longer clamp would have helped. I am looking forward to the longevity that this filter should provide if properly maintained.
