K & N Filters are the best
Reviewed by Donald L (Ottertail, MN) Reviewed for a 2013 Chevy Avalanche — Aug 11, 2012 9:22 AM
This is not my first K & N filter that I have had in my vehicles. I have relied on the K & N filter quality to help the engines in several of my vehicles breath & operate properly for many years. The new filter that I just purchased for my Chevy Silverado turbo charged DuraMax diesel is the first of the cone shaped filters & so only time will tell me just how good this one is. I can only assume that it will live up to my expectations of the overall K & N product quality that I have always found to be true. Don

K & N steady as always

It was time to replace the air filter in my truck. I found that the OEM replacement filter was the same cost as a K & N permanent filter. I would have gone with the K & N anyway, but this was a no brainer. I always recomend K & N filters or even the intake kits, they are great products.

I have had a K&N on my Dodge Cummins for years and had good service so it only made sense to put one on my Chevy Duramax and I have seen slight improvement on mileage.

A friend who also drives a Chevy Duramax swears by the K&N replacement filter he runs on his truck so I thought I would give it a try. I tend to not baby the truck and push it hard even in traffic and there is a noticable increase in acceleration with the new filter. The open-road mileage is up over 1 mpg so it is going to save me some cash on the open road and like the diesel motor, it is built for the long haul. Get yourself one and prove it for yourself!

Usable Functionality

I have owned many K/N air filters over the years. That is why, when I bought my new GMC diesel pickup, the first thing I did was purchase a K/N air filter. K/N lets my tow beast breath deeply, I know it will improve mileage. I like the fact that I can clean it anytime anywhere, and drive on. Plus, being an old gearhead, I love the noticable extra kick in the pants you get on a, lets say, spirited take off. When I get a new set of wheels, the first thing is a new K/N air filter, no shopping around. This is a product that has proven its worth every time.

Just recently installed the K&N filter on my 07 Duramax 3500 dually, easy installation, too soon to see any mileage gains but we will see. It installed easily for my truck.
