I tried the k&n filter but it messed up the mass flow air sensor from the oil with this filter no need for oil no problem.

I like the idea of a dry filter, and blowing it out instead of wash, dry, & oil. I am counting on the protection for the longevity of the engine.

It was time to replace the stock Duramax air filter. After checking prices and options I decided to get the aFe Pro-Dry filter from AutoAnything for about the same price as a stock replacement filter I could buy locally. Since the shipping was free, and the filter can be cleaned and used over and over, seemed like the best way to go. The filter is well constructed and is a slip in fit for the stock filter. The only difference is lining up a notch on the aFe filter which was not a problem. I would highly recommend the filter as a good value replacement for the stock filter especially since it can be cleaned and reused as opposed to the stock filter.

Look great ,should work OK. Only thing I don't like is the fit. OE filter pushes in tight, great seal.Pro dry S is held in by grooves in filter compartment. That part of the design could be alot better, should go in like OE filter.I just don't feel like it is sealing correctly. I received my filter promptly. It was easy to install and fit perfectly in my 08 Duramax. I would recommend this product and will be doing business with AutoAnything in the future.

I havent had it in long, but I'm satis fied so far. Compared to a throw away, this is a good choice. Only negative is that I had use a screwdriver to hold it against the inlet while I manuevered the lid on.

I was hesitant to buy another air filter since, I already had a AFE. Being oil free was getting me out of trouble the the air sensor. Plus cleaning up is alot easier. I am alot happier with the results.
