just replaced one that had 60000 miles on it. you really can't tell how dirty they are because you can't see the inner filter. did seem heavier than the new replacement though. have never seen any improvement in gas mileage etc. as long as the PCM is adjusting things i don't see how you could. if anything the better fow is going to make it adjust for more gas!

so far, so good! mostly highway and some dusty off road trails since the install. filter shows light dust and road grime on outside of element but inside still clean. got into the habit of checking my k&n oiled drop in filter before and after off road events and oil changes. the pro dry filter gives me better peace of mind as filtration goes. no more oiling and possible fouling of maf sensors. a better filter indeed.
