The oil brought the color back into the filter. When you clean it, it does take awhile to dry.

I have used the "other color" of premium grade air filters in the past and they simply dont last as the rubber seperates from the filter and sags. I honestly have never worn out a K&N filter. But one and you will save $$ down the road. Go with RED!

I have had this filter installed for a couple of weeks and haven't noticed any added performance or mpg increase. It definitely is a better replacement then the cheap throw away filters and the fact that you don't have to reapply oil every time you wash it is a big plus.
