AEM DryFlow Pre-Filter Air Filter Wrap Reviews

Prefilter from aem is a good product and fits the filter well as they are made specifically for each filter. Hopefully it prevents my filter from getting dirty super fast. I used this prefilter with an aem cold air intake kit.

Volant PowerCore Replacement Filter

Reviewed By Eric G (Quincy, MA) Reviewed for a 2011 GMC Sierra —11/11/2008 8:52 AM

Installed in a GMC Sierra 5.3L w/ Volant CAI, that previously had an oil type filter. No change in performance or mpg noticed, but I don't think thats the purpose of this filter. If it really does go 100K miles then I think it is a toss up honestly. At $90 for the PowerCore that is about (4) oil type filter cleaner/recharge kits @ $20/ea. Each recharge kit is good for about (4) uses, so at 7,500 miles between recharges thats 30K per kit and 120K over the (4) recharge kits. So basically all that is saved is the time and effort every 7,500 miles to recharge the oil type. Like I said, a toss up.
