It was very easy to install and only had it in for a week or so. See how the fuel milage is in a few weeks with a road trip.

I've used K&N in most of my previous sports cars and performance sedans with excellent results (particulary when paired-up with a free-flowing exhaust updgrade). Given the skyrocketing cost of fuel, I decided to try one in my wifes's '08 Mazda CX-9. To my surprise, the filter resulted in an immediate increase of 2 mpg (mixed loop), and a "seat-of-the-pants" gain in low end acceleration. The 3.7L six even seems to idle a bit quieter. At this rate, payback on the investment in the filter will arrive in 2 1/2 months.

Easy install. Drops right in. Make sure you look closely at filter. It looks like the outer black portion (for drop ins) was injected molded or something, and I had bits of this black plastic actually in the weaves of the cotton material. Pick any pieces out BEFORE you install or it may get sucked into the engine. Other than that, it seems to work just fine. Better throttle response. I have not noticed much in MPG increase but I did get around 37 mpg on highway after install. Worth it.
