The oil brought the color back into the filter. When you clean it, it does take awhile to dry.

Bought this for my 99 Lexus RX300. I went from a paper filter to this, and I noticed a difference. My engine used to run at 3k rpm @70mph w/ the paper filter. The Spectre runs at 2,600rpm's @70mph. I got 15-18mpg's w/ paper, now I consistently get 19mpg. This filter is just as good as K&N for half the price!!! I was impressed with the build quality, it's right on par with K&N. Spectre has won me over.
