Had an old real SUV, not one of these commuter linkage recent models. It took the K&N cone shaped air filter. Sold it with 232,000 miles due to rust. Found the latest year of that platform model with higher performance engine & hydraulic adjustable shocks. Crazy...It takes a flat (less surface area) air filter. To use a cone shaped filter in it would take the intake conversion kit with no filter box. But, K&N does not make a conversion kit for this SUV. Will have to clean & re-oil the flat filter more often due to much less surface area. From experience, these filters only survive a couple cleanings. Would have used Amsoil dry cleanable 100,000 mile air filter but not available for this SUV. Guess I'm lucky at least the flat K&N is available over conventional cheap paper air filters. The Commies are taking over...reduced availability of goods!
