aFe Air Filters

I HAD CONSIDERED AN AFTERMARKET AIR INTAKE BUT AFTER SOME RESEARCH REALIZED THAT MOST OF WHAT WAS OUT THERE WAS "EYE CANDY". UNLESS THE SYSTEM REALLY BROUGHT IN COLD AIR FROM OUTSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ALL YOU HAD WAS A BUNCH OF NICE LOOKING PIPES. I REPLACED MY STOCK FILTER WITH A AFE PRO-DRY FILTER ( NO NASTY OIL) KEPT MY STOCK AIR BOX BUT REMOVED THE PUNY PLASTIC INTAKE THAT WENT INTO THE WHEEL WELL AND REPLACED IT WITH 3 INCH PLUMBING WHICH EXTENDS INTO THE WHEEL WELL. THROTTLE RESPONSE IS MUCH BETTER AS IS EXCELERATION. NEXT PROJECT IS TO REPLACE THE STOCK EXHAUST WITH A PACESETTER MONZA EXHAUST FROM THE CAT BACK WHICH I HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED... JUST WAITING FOR THE SNOW TO MELT!!

Over-all the product works fine. Instructions are simple and direct. The re-oiling process takes time and patients, but well worth the effort. I would recommend and I would buy this product again!

I received the replacement air filter element and, after looking at it, I was confused as to how it was to be installed. The instructions offered no help. It required a call to AFE to confirm what I thought - the original housing needed to have a paper element removed and then the AFE filter would be installed backwards in to the original housing - backwards to what I was used to. The filter acts as a basket - not a cone. After the call I got the correct info from AFE and the installation went well. The element has made a great increase in the throttle response and about 1 mpg increase. Except for the rather vague installation instructions this is a GREAT DEAL!

I ordered the AFE Pro-Guard 7 to replace my factory air filter. I couldn't afford the Cold Air Intake but instead I decided to give this a try. I've been driving my 07 Dodge Ram 3500 Turbo Diesel with this installed and I could really tell the differance. More power and a see a slight increase in miliage as well. Highly recommend this to everyone. It will pay for itself in the long run. Must have.
