Custom Fit Air Filters

I've installed K&N air filters in my last four vehicles. Most recent application is a 2006 Jeep Liberty Ltd 3.7L V6. Primary intent this time around was to improve gas mileage (avg ~16.5 mpg around town). Still a little too early to tell, but it looks like ~1 mpg improvement with the K&N filter. Also have one in my 2.7L V6 Chrysler, and had one in my 99 Dodge Durango 5.2L V8, and 97 3.5L V6 Intrepid Sport. Improved throttle response is immediately noticeable in the Jeep and Chrysler. As you can tell from this review, K&N offers a wide range of applications for their products. And prices and selection at AutoAnything meet or beat local brick and mortar outlets. K&N is an inexpensive way to improve performance, right out of the box.

I've been a fan of K&N oiled filters for years to give that little extra boost to throttle response and mpg's. However, I disliked having to clean and re-oil the media as it almost always ended up too wet after I applied the oil. This aFe filter has been a revelation! It fit perfectly in my QX4's air box and gave the confidence-inspiring off the line improvement I was looking for, while the maintenance will be far easier as it performs it's duties. Haven't done a comparison on the gas savings yet, but with the familiar performance to my previous high quality filters I expect a 1-2 mpg improvement on the highway. That's saying a lot when my Infinity only gets 19 or so now!

Having used Spetre air filters before I knew it would be an excellent unit for far less money than the competer that I have always used before. Unfortunatly when the product arrived it was the wrong part number. No worries, all it took was a phone call to the very helpful people at Spectre and the proper part was shipped. After installing it I was rewarded with a slight increase in peppyness and overall performance. I havent done a milage check yet but expect a slight increase in MPG. Overall a pleasant experiance.Thank you, Steve

The filter construction and fit is excellent!There is a noticeable improvement in throttle response, even hauling 600 pounds to the dump!Immediately after installation, the Isuzu Rodeo V6 backfired through the intake upon opening the throttle 100% while at low RPMs. There is no question about increased airflow. The computer seems to have learned where to adjust the fuel/air ratio since then. I am still evaluating in more detail. Gas mileage (the primary reason for purchase) may be up a small amount around town. I need to take a trip to fully evaluate everything.

I received the replacement air filter element and, after looking at it, I was confused as to how it was to be installed. The instructions offered no help. It required a call to AFE to confirm what I thought - the original housing needed to have a paper element removed and then the AFE filter would be installed backwards in to the original housing - backwards to what I was used to. The filter acts as a basket - not a cone. After the call I got the correct info from AFE and the installation went well. The element has made a great increase in the throttle response and about 1 mpg increase. Except for the rather vague installation instructions this is a GREAT DEAL!
