Installed in a GMC Sierra 5.3L w/ Volant CAI, that previously had an oil type filter. No change in performance or mpg noticed, but I don't think thats the purpose of this filter. If it really does go 100K miles then I think it is a toss up honestly. At $90 for the PowerCore that is about (4) oil type filter cleaner/recharge kits @ $20/ea. Each recharge kit is good for about (4) uses, so at 7,500 miles between recharges thats 30K per kit and 120K over the (4) recharge kits. So basically all that is saved is the time and effort every 7,500 miles to recharge the oil type. Like I said, a toss up.

the directions were easy to follow on the bottles and it took me 30 minutes to clean and recharge. It took about 3 hours for the solution to dry, but it gets the job done.

Volant Replacement Air Filters Reviews (1 of 1+)

This is a replacement for the original filter that came with the kit I got 2 years and 70K miles ago. It's still a tight fit getting it into the box (that's what she said) but it has been a great investment. The truck is breathing easier and has the pick up I had when I first installed the intake. I recommend the Volant system and replacing the filter after 70K is a wise move. They can only be cleaned so many times.
