"I found this a fairly easy to install kit for a novice. Took me about 1 hour to complete. The kit was not what I would call a precise fit in a couple areas. The air breather hose was very snug connecting to the engine because the supplied hose was of the same diameter on both ends when it needed to step up to a larger size for placement on the engine. It's a minor issue, but the OEM hose does this so I don't understand why they would not supply the correct hose. Substiting the OEM hose wasn't an option as it wouldn't be able to reach the AEM intake pipe. It took considerable effort to get it far enough on for it to seat correctly. Also the mounting bracket is about 1/2 inch shorter than it needs to be for a good placement on the engine mounting hole. Despite those issues I found the install fairly simple and with a little effort all parts installed properly and securely. The engine now sounds a throatier at higher RPMs as the OEM parts were dampening much of the engine noise coming from the air intake. I have noticed improved acceleration, however, I haven't yet determined if I have had any fuel mileage increase as I only recently installed this item."

"Everything was fine it's just that fitment was off (mounting bracket) it doesn't line up correctly, but I'm pretty sure that's on my part because I have a Y7 with a Y8 IM but I don't think that should affect fitment."

"A must buy. i was running 16.6 before I put the intake in and I ran a 16.06 today. I did take some weight out of my car but regardless, you can instanly feel the power. And wow it roars, even louder than my magnaflow exhaust when you step into it. An easy install, and only took 2 days to get in the mail."

"I've wanted an intake for my Mazda since I bought it and finally took the plunge. The installation was much easier than I expected, each step was well explained and the pictures were very helpful to navigate your way through the engine and underneath the car, time spent installing was great at less than two hours. Overall this intake is incredible for the price, no check engine errors and the sound is amazing. I have noticed a slight increase in tork and maybe a small increase in gas mileage savings. I would definitely recommend this intake to anyone, another great product by AEM."

"This is my fourth AEM short ram intake (for different vehicles), and I am satisfied with the new sound and better gas mileage of my 1999 Accord V6 coupe. The only bad thing about it is that AEM has switched to a cheap, paper cone filter. Oh well, I replaced the older version with a K&N too, so it does not matter. Good stuff!!!"

"I purchased this for my 94 Accord EX a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I wasnt sure about it at first because I had trouble finding the difference between this and the AEM Cold Air Intake. This one just replaces the stock air filter. It took under an hour to install and it sounds great. I have to give it around 50% throttle to hear it, which i like because the car sounds stock. But when I floor it I can really hear roar. I have noticed a little bit better gas mileage and it gives a little bit more power. Nothing too noticeable though. For only $110, it was well worth the money compared to the $230 CAI. Buy this one unless you are trying to get every last drop of performance out of your car."

"Well as far as quality aftermarket parts go, i still think they're all overpriced haha. but in comparison to similar products, this is probably the best price you can get, and there's not much to complain about, the install took about 30 min (not counting the time it took me to get a screwdriver out my engine compartment after dropping it...). sounds beautiful now too."

"AEM has consistenly made solid products, this is the 3rd intake I have bought and installed from them. On my '07 Si you have to really work to get the old intake removed. Overall isntallation due to that annoyance took 2 hrs, however, it was well worth it. The RAM Air is easier to put in than the cold air in my year Si. I reccomend that if you dont want to fool with longer installation and a bypass valve to avoid sucking up water. Very smooth and deep at low RPMs but it screams when it hits Vtec! Sounds perfect, couldnt ask for better results."

"I recently bought the AEM Short Ram Intake System for my 2000 Honda Civic EX. I'm 16 and have always been interested in cars... Performance wise. The intake sounds, feels, works, and looks great! It was easy to install, w/help from friends in Auto Class... The only difficult part was removing my old intake... Mainly because I cracked it after sliding off the road. But it's all good now... The sound is excellent, I can't help but floor it every chance I get, so it's a great buy if you have a heavy foot... I feel a difference w/the pedal, I don't "need" to push it down as hard to get my speed up... The mileage is better too, not really sure by how much exactly, but I'm not buying/paying as much for gas too quickly... I ordered it in polished chrome, so it goes good w/my white car... I'm looking for an exhaust system for my car too, maybe the DC Sports one? If anyone has any suggestions about that, feel free to let me know. Auto Anything... Thank you for the great service, parts, prices, and fast shipping! I will deffinentely shop hear again for more projects! ~ Corey."

"shipped real fast and installed very easily. the actual installation was much easier than the instructions depicted. it was all just common sense. 40 minutes later i was testing out the car. wow is all i have to say. the engine sounds GREAT! its way throatier now and is audible from long distances. there was none of that "ricer" sounding noise either, which made me happy. as for the handling, the intake really kicks when you punch the gas. the engine feels alive. i dont know the exact specs, but the difference is definately noticeble. at 2500 to 3000 rpm, however, your torque goes down. you might consider getting headers to solve this problem. overall, a great buy!"

"My honest opinion picks on the paper filter on this unit. The overall fit & finish of the elbow is OK but I am disappointed with the filter cone. I was expecting something similar to a knock-off K&N or better yet a real K&N cone but nope, just paper like the factory. I guess you get what you pay for. If it wasn't my beater car, I'd return it immediately. Regards, Vince"
