"I have only had the unit on my truck for a couple of weeks and have not been able to get a reading on milage. The instuctions were good and the installation only took about 1 hour. There is a noticable growl under the hood on acceration."

Volant intake with ram air scoop

"The install went very smooth. I did have to get a new air duct because the MAF mounting bolt holes on the mounting boss were not located properly. Sent Tech photos and the got me a good duct in 2 work days. All else went great and truck is much snappier now that it gets cooler air from ahead of the radiator. There is a slight low frequency sound increase but none of the loud swoosh/howling noise when you punch it. Inlet air temp at 35 mph dropped about 15 degrees F compared to OEM intake system.
In my opinion, this is the only true cold air intake out there that I have seen. The autoanything price was right also."

"I installed the intake on a nbs 07 sierra with 6.0 engine my mileage increased on the highway by 2 I now get 20mpg and around town I 16mpg with great throttle response. You will get a roar from under the hood on heavy accelaration but at highway speeds it quiet as with the stock intake. Excellent Product!"

"Have not placed car on a dyno for hp results but the only noticeable difference is in the throttle response. Also, downshifts seem to be smoother since the engine can match the revs quicker. Makes a nice whoosh sound as well between 2 and 3 thousand RPM. Would recommend."

"Works great may be alittle to much air. On heavy hit of throttle motor will bogg but a little feathering it does just fine. Definitely more power and maybe better milage but haven't had it long enough to tell, my foot being it to much. If you can remember when we would turn over the air breather top for that cool sound of the 4 barrel kicking with that deeeeeep sound you'll love this product. Ram scoop alittle hard to attach, uses the tow hook location for mount very hard to get bolts or nuts into frame due to mine no having the tow hooks. Overall I recommend this to free breather to all."

"instructions were not helpfull but installation was very easy. Perfect fit and really looks good. As far as performance, I did notice some hp gain mostly in midrange to high rpm and my mpg improved from 14.2 to 16.5 in mixed city/hwy driving. It really sounds good above 3500 rpm, only drawback is the drone when floored between 2000 and 2700 rpm. Overall, very pleased."

"This is my first Volant CAI. I have had others and liked them but soon grew tired of the loud noise. The Volant is not too loud with normal driving, I really like that. When you do go full throttle the beast sounds like a Lion. The overall look and style is better than the other brands IMO. I am pleased with my choice."

"I am very pleased with this intake system. I noticed immediatley the increase in horsepower, especially when entering interstate and passing on the highways.
I must say I was skeptical initially about the supposed increase in fuel efficiency. However, it has been proven. I filled up my tank the same day the volant was installed....an increase of 2.4 miles per gallon by the end of the tank!! That's a big savings. The cold air intake will pay for iteslf in a month...as I drive about 8 hours a day."

"I purchased this intake as a first step of increasing power to pull our new camper. Installation was easy, but did have to trim a little to make it fit. Looks sharp! I was surprised to see how much I will have to disassemble just to service the filter in the future, but not a big deal. Very little difference in sound (good-it is wife's vehicle). I have only run a couple of tanks of gas thru it so far. No noticeable difference in economy in our everyday driving, however for Labor Day trip with camper, it did almost 2 mpg better than last trip with camper! That was neat to see and we will be continuing to monitor over time."

"Kit was easy to install the only thing they didn't mention was you can flip around the breather hose and get it to fit without cutting it. You can definitely hear the engine. I thought it would be quieter since it came with an air box, but its not. I like it the sound you get used to. So far up in gas mileage 2mpg. The only thing I didn't like about the kit was the adapter to the air tube that connects to the throttle body. It seemed too big but the clamp compressed it enough so that it worked. Looks good under the hood also."

I did notice the improvement immeadiately and am very pleased with the throtle responce. I love the sound when it's wide open. Haven't noticed any improved gas mileage yet. Too newly installed. Too hard to stay out of the gas!"

FINISH IS POOR - 2 PERSON INSTALL REQ'D

"The cover is a poor fit to the airbox - it leaks, poor seal. Due to the leak I experience a whistle at cold idle startup.
2 persons required to install.
it is NOT a "Closed Air Box", as advertised. There is a
round opening in the front of the box for future use for a " Ram Air System " that is not yet availble for the Tundra - Per Tech Suport at Volant. This causes excessive noise under moderate exceleration.
Have not yet called Volant to voice my dis-satisfation, but will do so today. 9/4/07. MJ"

"I heard about the Volant on an Explorer forum and decided to try it. It took some doing to get it installed because the instructions are pretty light but once installed I am very pleased with the purchase. I haven't tracked the MPG but my truck definitely drives better and has the lower end boost I was looking for with the purchase. I'm not a tuner but I am a daily commuter and sometimes it's the low end push you need to change lanes."
