Works well, however fabrication needed to make it fit

"The intake works well, no issues with that, however it was quite a bit too large to fit in the engine compartment, I had to cut it down quite a bit to get it to fit, and I had to fabricate a better seal with the wall of the truck using a piece of the stock intake. overall it works well, and looks good, but it's a pain to install, and the instructions included were worthless."

"The Volant was easy to install and had no problems. I Installed it on a 2005 F-150 Lariat. Instructions are vague at best but with a little intuition all went well. Sound is very nice low rumble when excelerating, also some noticeable increase in horse power."

"I recently installed the latest Volant Cold Air Intake System (#19860) for my 2006 Ford F250 Super Duty with the 6.0 diesel. I also have Bully Dog’s Triple Dog Downloader installed which I keep in the “performance” setting, and my exhaust system is stock. This particular Cold Air Intake System uses the stock forward location to draw in air, plus a top filter cover that also functions as a cold air ram intake….catching fresh cold air from directly under the leading edge of the hood. The installation was quite easy taking only about two hours to complete properly. I expected the engine to run considerably louder, but the box-type configuration of the Volant filter enclosure only allowed engine noise slightly higher than the stock intake system. In fact, the engine actually sounds more like a gasoline V8…..very nice! I am consistently getting one extra mile per gallon of diesel over and above the stock intake system. Low end acceleration is noticeably quicker and I can actually “feel” more power throughout the RPM range. There obviously is some power increase although I don’t know how much. I checked out other cold air intake products and though long and hard before ordering the Volant Cold Air Intake System. Bottom line…..For quality of product, ease of installation, and with regard to meeting my expectations….I don’t think I could have picked a better system. I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend to anyone."

"I recieved my Volant 3 days after I ordered it. What a great experence. The directions were very good, I recomend you read them and lay parts out before installing,the customer sevice is excelent, the help people were great. After installing I noticed my computer is registering a one plus mile per gallon improvement. It looks great under the hood and opens up the engine compartment from clutter. I most definatly recomend this product and this company. I have and will buy more. I will say the grill I bought was a differnt story but only on the manufacturers end of ther deal. AutoAnything is a top notch company. Harry "

2004 GMC Sierra, 5.3L, 1500 crew cab, short box

"The airbox arrived exactly when promised. It took 1.5 hours to install, the directions weren't the absolute best in the world but with a little bit of common sence anyone can figure it out. Since installation I have been through 2 tanks of gas. Resetting the MPG on the steering wheel I have been getting 15 to 16 MPG consistantly. Getting gas from the same gas station, driving the same routes, the same way, the same time I have seen 1.5 to 2 MPG increase and a 2 MPG increase in towing. WOW, I was pleasently supprised to see these numbers. When you get on the gas it also has a nice sound to it. Best of all, it looks like a million bucks. I priced this same product locally and they wanted $70 more plus shipping and tax. I spent 2 weeks reading and researching this product on the internet before purchasing and AutoAnything was hands down the best price. If AutoAnything has it don't waste your time as I did trying to find it cheaper."

"Product performs as advertised and is well manufactured. Very noticable gains in power and throttle response. However, kit was missing two minor parts and the directions could be more helpful. Installation and fit looks very good when finished but the air box is very very hard to install on my vehicle. Overall I am satisfied with the Volant cold air intake system despite some installation problems."

"Even though instructions are pretty much useless...and had parts that were missing. Took and additional week to receive from Volant. I do see a noticable difference in performance. The fit and finish are good but I had to do more modifying to get it to fit than than I wanted. Had to relocate my horns."

"The install was easy, good directions the only trouble that I had was getting the intake hose connected to the actuall filter, it's kind of tight in the filter box, Haven't had it long enought to tell if the MPG has gotten better but the fuel response is better"

"Had a little trouble installing as the fit next to the firewall was very tight. Installed along with a flowmaster in the hopes of better mileage. No noticable difference so far, I can't keep my foot out of it, it sounds too good."

"Auto everything was easy to shop with. Shipping took longer than expected, considering they're a So. Cal based company and I'm in So. Cal. Volant product is great! Noticed an immediate increase in throttle response and power. Nice little growl under the hood, but not too much to drown the cab of my 03 Avalanche. I bought a K&N 77 Series intake for my wife's 04 Suburban and should have spent the extra money to put the Volant in! Big difference! If you're looking for a quick increase in power...go for the Volant intake. Have not noticed any change in MPG, which is one of the main reasons I purchased the intake. Great product though, thoroughly satisfied!"

"The added HP is noticeable, no need to convince yourself that the purchase was worth it. I have installed mods before and had to convince myself there was a difference, not so with the Volant cold air intake. Definitely more power, 1-2 mpg increase even though I notice myself getting on it more. Quality of the product is on par with an OEM installation."

Perplexed!!

"This was my first install and I had problems from the "get go". After removing the old system, I discovered I needed a torx screw driver to remove the air sensor. There was no mention of this in the directions. Next, the air sensor would not fit in the port as the port was not molded correctly. I had to rasp out the plastic in two corners to get it to fit. The case was difficult to align with the fender mount, the rubber gasket for the intake was cut to long and the 18" hose for the engine intake was missing from the kit. However, I made do and the Valant system is installed and has increased my mileage by about 3 miles per gal. Performance is much better especially when pulling my 27ft. trailler. Thanks!!"

'06 Crew Cab Chevy - Excellent!

"Bought the CAI and the scoop at the same time. Installation was easy, the only problem was the scoop. But if you pop out the wheel well it's a snap from there. Noticed HP gain instantly but the gas mileage was minor. The scoop helps on the freeway mileage, very smooth. Overall, very impressed. Costs a little more, but if you want the best, this is it. Also, the scoop does seem to pull up a little mist in heavy rain conditions but didn't notice a problem at all - never made it through the filter I guess, just saw dried droplets in the filter box after. However, I then bought the prefilter wrap and that will ensure no water getting past the filter."

"Purchased for my wife's 2007 Yukon. Easy to install. Directions OK but not outstanding. Much better made than a competiror's unit I purchased a few years back. Too early to tell if there is any difference in mileage - small perforamance gain noticed."

"The Volant Cols Air Intake was Very Easy To install. Ansd sounds great. It kinda sounds like a 4 barrel kicking in and increased my low end power alot. the only thing that was bad was it didnt fit tight all the ways around the carb it was tight on 1 end but i could see a gap on ther other side so i had to lift up on one side to make it fit well"
