"Simple to install. Looks very sharp in the engine compartment, great fit and finish. Wide open throttle sound is incredible. Noticeable difference in power. No noticeable difference in gas mileage at this point (2 tanks). Intake is louder than I expected."

"The volant system is a quality intake that was easy to install. After install I noticed better throttle response. Mileage gain has not yet been realized. I am in the process of hypertech upgrade to take full advantage of my new volant intake."

"AutoAnything did a good job of getting the Volant CAI to me very quickly - that was impressive. However when I opened the box I discovered that there were absolutely no instructions WHATSOEVER! Volant did include a schematic of how the intake fits together but nothing on how to fit it to my Tacoma, but I am fairly mechanically inclined so I figured it out anyhow. Still, that's poor documentation, hence only 4 stars.
It is also louder than I expected on acceleration, but at cruise and normal acceleration there isn't that much added noise, just a low growl.
As for PERFORMANCE... this baby ROCKS! Much quicker acceleration! Woo hoo! And I'm sure I'll eventually see increased MPGs if I can keep my foot out of the accelerator?! Right...
All in all I think it is a good investment.
Side note... I spoke to Daniel at Volant today about the fit of the air box against the fender wall of the Tacoma, since it doesn't seal out the engine compartment air nearly as well as the OEM filter setup. His response was that they had one of the original X-Runners to work with when they designed the CAI and there was a pipe of some sort welded/affixed to the fender wall, so all they needed to do was put a hole in the side of the CAI Volant to attach it. He said that Toyota (in their infinite wisdom) decided to remove this welded fender wall pipe thingy in the later model Tacomas so now there is no real seal to the fender wall which really sucks! The factory setup has it's own pipe attachment. Daniel suggested that I use dryer vent hose to fabricate my own?!?! Now there's some customer service! NOT! He said that Volant is redesigning the box for future Tacomas, but it won't be out for about 6 months, and I doubt that they'll notify customers that purchased the first "flawed" unit.
I did find out that Volant is designing a ram air attachment when I asked what the extra hole that on the front of the CAI box was for. Now that sounds like a cool addon to the CAI box. I wonder if AutoAnything will carry it"

"product design is well thought out, althogh the placementof the filter gage could have been located diferently, making it easier to see and install. quality control could be abit better, as there were a few flaws that stare right at you, not good. upon contacting the factory with my concerns, they were very understanding and shipped replaced pieces willingly, they were very concerned about customer satisfraction.iam a happy camper."

"Auto anything was great recieved the system in about 7 days. Installation was a snap. I installed it in about an hour and a half. definatly increased power off the line. sounds good, maybe a little loud when you hammer down but no problem when crusing. Have not checked milage yet but I think it's better. 1-10 I give a 10"

"The Volant CAI is a grate product. Fist the dislikes.
1. They do not make an enclosed box or ram air for the 03 4.2 V6's.
2. The installation instructions could have been a bit more detailed.
4. Had to buy bolts/washers to mount bracket to frame. and use extra washers to mount bracket to MAS adapter because supplied screws were to long.
3. Wish the clamps were black.
It sounds like a bunch of stuff, but all in all it was not that big a deal. Once I figured out the little issues, it took me 15 minutes to install. (figuring took about 35)
Performance increase was well worth the price. $110 cheeper than the exact same product and 4Weeldrive store down the road. given the chance would definately purchace item again, and would definately used AutoAnything again."

"This is the only kit to my knowledge that totally enclosed the filter from engine heat.It was easy to install and makes my 5.4 ford sound like it has a big Holly four barrel!I can feel an increase in power, especially on the highway when I stomp the gas to pass and it complements my magnaflow catback nicely. Not sure yet on gas mileage, I've only had it a couple of weeks, but mileage would have to improve compared to the stock restrictive air passage.I placed my order with AutoAnything and 2 days later it was on my doorstep.I am very satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to make another purchase in the future."

"The dealer installed it for me in the New 07 Denali. They said it was a little tight and that they had to make some modifications to make it fit and they felt that the fittings are not as tight as the factory. So far the milage improvement seems to be very minimal. Only a fraction of a mile per gallon."

"I installed the Volant Cold Air Intake System only a few weeks ago. I can hear the difference in the way the engine growls and a slight increase in horsepower. Since I already have the Banks 6 Gun, the horsepower gain was not all that great! I’ve also notice that the exhaust pukes out more dark smoke when I put my foot into it. I plan to add a Volant single exhaust system to see if that will reduce the black smoke and allow the truck to perform better.
Overall very pleased with the Volant Cold Air Intake System."

"The intake functions fine it's the lack of instructions
that made me think. If your not real mechanical and have not put on in before it's going to make you think. And the holes for the housing are of just a little. Overall it's a good system."

"This thing sounds awesome on my colorado!! It ROARS at WOT! It gives me a little better milage and I run lower RPM at crusing speed. I can feel better acceleration too so I know it gives a HP increase (how much I dont know). When you get on the gas, people know your colorado has something special under the hood for sure! Sound reminds me of a deep growl you hear on much bigger V8s. I installed with a buddy in about 30min. you may have to hold a radiator hose back to wedge the box into the stock location. Make sure you get it over the stud! If you over tighten stud, the cover may not lign up as well with the bolt holes. the vacumn line included was too short so i bought some at the local store for $1. I am gonna call volant to see if they will hook me up b/c their hose is premium grade silicone. Better than the others cause the filter wont get wet/muddy/dirty when you are offroading cause of the sealed box design. Good engineering overall. Better midrange torque. email ?'s to train22@ureach.com"

"I received my intake system on 9/06/06 tried installing it. It didn't fit. I called Volant left countless messages went to their website it wouldn't come up. Finally talked to their "tech" and he said he would get back to me. I still haven't heard anything back yet. I will be returning this system and going with an AirRaid. Thanks for nothing Volant. If I could give a 1/4 star rating that's what it would be."

"I was impressed with the quality of the hardware ,except for the box-to-fender seal. Instead of going the extra effort to make a circular foam seal,a length of foam seal was provided that you had to stuff on the box to form a circular seal. Imho a bit cheesy.
Performance is great, sounds like a 4 barrel carb when you accelerate, but quiet at 70 mph.Milage APPEARS to have increased 2-3 mpg."
