"This is a good quality unit. Takes about 1 hour to install. Instructions are not quite adequate, so I went to an online Ford Forum for instructions and better pictures. Performance has increased slightly and the sound is awesome, reminds me of an old four barrel carb. No mileage improvement. If you want a unit that looks & sounds great this is it."

"Volant cold air intake system is over priced. Didn't make any gas mileage difference. Just gave me a bit more hp, torque, and made my exhaust sound a bit deeper. I also purchased the air scoop with it. (which is overpriced) I can see how it would help, but like i said i did gain a bit more hp and torque. Not worth paying over 200 for. Volant is overpriced."

Easiest Install I Have Done

"The installation was very easy on my 03 Avalanche…less than an hour with minimum tools. The system has produced a noticeable low-end throttle response and it appears to have increased the miles per gallon by one. The only negative is the resonance during mid to hard acceleration…very noticeable…more than I care for. Otherwise, I am pleased with the unit."

"I purchased this system for my 06 dodge 2500 cummins powered truck. the stock filter was pulling real close to red line on the filter minder at 1700 miles the volant is still pulling with no restriction. Directions were a little hazy, but installed unit looks and performs well. You will hear a distinct turbo whistle with this filter. Kevin"

"installed fairly easily but i did have to go to the hardware store to buy a bolt that was not supplied in the kit and also buy a bigger hose clamp as one of the ones that was supplied was too small. too my knowledge the only true cold air kit for the xterra on the market."

Volant adds some Bam! to Ford F150 Supercrew

"Ok, so I broke down after reading some reviews off of this site and a couple of others about how great the Volant cold air intake is on a 2004 Ford F150. So I decided to give it a go. I picked up some detailed directions off of the fordtrucks.com web site. (BTW, you do not have to remove the electrical box like the directions mention; you just have to wiggle it.) The Volant kit made a bunch of noise and gave me a little more response off the pedal. I drove it for a few days and decided to purchase the Ram Air Scoop to allow more outside airflow into my 5.4 engine. Installation on the scoop took about an hour, and what a difference it made. If you are going to purchase one of these kits, you should definately consider the Ram Air Scoop. Installation was a snap and you can really tell the difference from 30-90mph. Also, the intake that Autoanything shipped to me was missing the oil breather tube and air filter gasket. I called Volant and they sent me the parts for free via 4 day ground. Volant shipped me the wrong gasket but did send me the oil tube. I'm still waiting on the gasket... I'm gonna upgrade the exhaust next. If you see me in your rear view mirror, please move to the right. -Doug, Atlanta"

"The volant intake system is a good fit in my 01 mustang GT, with the exception of one vacuum hose. I had to replace it with a hose two inches longer.
I did not notice any great increase in power, but it does seem to run smoother.
There might be slight increase in gas mileage.
I am happy!
AVP"

Excellent replacement from the stock straw intake

"Just had my exhaust taken out a week before I installed this Volant C.A.I. I installed a Magnaflow cat back 1 in 2 out (dual exhaust). That worked fine but after installing the C.A.I. it made a huge difference. You can really feel a change in the power. I'm really quite surprised at how much of a difference it made on the gas mileage also. It does however sound like a vibrating grumble when you step on it. I guess that is what you pay for when you modify the stock restrictors. It was a little pricy but over all I am satisfied with the product and figure it will pay itself off within the first year (from saving gas @ almost $3.00 a gallon). From then on you will be saving on gas and putting money in your pocket!!!!! Pick one up @ autoanything, they beat everyones price and I will definetly be calling them when the next modification is needed."

'06 Sierra 5.3L 4X4 Running E-85

"No improvement in gas mileage (in fact it's very easy to go through a tank if not carefull with my right foot). I've been watching the fuel gauge pretty closely since running E-85 for the past few months and I'm still only getting 13 mpg. Put the increase in power is absolutely worth it! After buying the truck in December and running it a few months I told my wife that the truck's a bit of a dog. I'd previously owned a '98 Chevy with the same motor (with 50 less housepower - but a 3.73 rearend) that was much more fun to drive. Passing and going up hills wasn't ever a problem. Now the GMC, just wasn't up to the hill by our house, when pulling into trafic and standing on the throttle it just didn't seem to want to get going (I'd planned on dropping into low in the future, if I really needed to get up that hill in traffic). NOT ANY MORE, after installing the new air intake, I fell like I'm driving a truck again! The factory intake was an amazing piece of design and I'm sure gave the moldmaker a few headacks, but why? To air starve the engine for better gas mileage? I try to keep my RPM's under 2000 when accelerating (still stand on it to get on the freeway). Because the first tank after the installation was gone after 250 miles, that's 11.3 mpg but alot of fun. Installation was pretty straight forward and took about 2 hours."

"I travel a lot. Have almost 60K on the truck. Install was a dream. Thought I would have problems based on other reviews. Just had to look closely @ the diagram provided. The cold air system worked better than expected. was getting 16.5 -17 MPG, mpgs on the Highway. This went up to 19 + on the road, around town up to 18+. I just love it. I was considering trading it in for a smaller truck."

"The installation in our 2004 Nissan Xterra was easy, the only thing we had to by was a longer piece of vacuum hose to complete the installation. Noticed increase of low-end torque and maybe 2 miles gallon on fuel. Quality product."

"This intake is great. Goes in easy even for the mehanically challenged like me. Nice to remove all that stock garbage and have more room under the hood. I feel and hear the power in the higher revs, even with the stock exhaust still in place. AutoAnything is the best...no need to shop for prices."

"Installed in my 2001 Dodge Ram 5.9L in about 15 min with a noticable change in off idle acceleration and throttle response. Will Not fit with Trans Dapt throttle body spacer. Definitely would purchase again and will probably add the cold air intake tube (ram air) later. Great product!!"

"Installed Volant in '05 F-150,4.6L, 4WD. Could hear the air intake difference immediately after install. About 2 weeks later, had Flowmaster series 50 muffler & 3" dia. tailpipe installed. Can now spin the rear tires from a stop, which would not happen before. Throttle response is noticeably quicker. Only the lack of a CLEAR set of install instructions prevented a 5 star rating. Very satisfied with this product."
