Description

Increase performance up to 18 horsepower, add 40 lbs of torque and even save gas mileage with the Volant Cold Air Intake System! The rocket scientists at Volant have truly outdone themselves with this one.

The Hi-Flow Velocity Air Box breathes in oodles of performance-enhancing air via the massive air duct. Many Volant Cold Air Intakes also include an enclosed air box that takes power and efficiency higher. Some drivers even report an increase in gas mileage by 1 to 2 miles per gallon. What's more, it can take less than an hour using standard household tools to replace the old, suffocating factory air box.

Best yet, Volant gives most vehicles a performance filter choice: the original high-performance cotton-gauze filter with cleaning intervals of 35,000-50,000 miles, or the all-new oil-free PowerCore air filter, requiring maintenance after a whopping 100,000 miles.

"It was not as easy as the AirAid or K&N. A lot of assembly and disassembly due to poor instructions, no sense of order. Very good quality though. Has a large paper element that my be expensive to replace but is guaranteed for 100,000 miles. It is not a rechargeable filter like others. Its shape will make it hard to find a rechargeable filter. Must disassemble system to change filter. Once filter is off not much clearance to put back on. Could feel the HP increase with a tune. Sounds good too."

"Installed in an 05 Xterra, I couldn't be happier. Better gas mileage when I want it, or more power when I want that. At least in the Xterra's, these things can sound pretty meaty and loud, and I love it."

"It took a while to arrive since it was out of stock, but once it arrived everything went as planned. The installation sheet was kinda poor since it doesn´t explain much how to take the OEM air box. But you can find some info about how to do it on internet. It was very easy to install (20-30 min. max with the help of one of your buddies) The intake is pretty quiet because of its air box, but it does sounds wild when you floor it. To conclude, it gives some extra hp and it helps the engine to breath in cold air. Great Mod for the price"

"I drive an '04 F150 Supercrew w/ 5.4 V8. The installation for this intake was relatively easy. However, the instructions it came with did not help much. I recommend logging onto a message board (like f150online.com) and finding someone who shows a step by step installation with pictures...it will make things go A LOT smoother. It is true what they say about the added growl you will hear from the engine...but you have to get it above 2K rpms to really hear it. I have yet to see any improvement in mpg's, but I was already getting 16 to start with so there might not me much more room for improvement (which is why I could not give an excellent ratting on price/value). I like the fact that the filter is enclosed in its own box, not just a heat shield like other CAI's. I would definitely recommend this intake to others. It has been a great addition to my truck."

"The volant is extremely, and a superb cold air induction. For my 7.3 2003 it is doing an excellent job. Fuel mileage increased and the power is gnarly! I absolutely love it! Also auto anything gave me an excellent price. The sound of the volant is great also, you can really hear the turbo at work out under the hood. Also the installation was easy. Excellent product--keep up the good work volant and auto anything."

"It was easy enough to take the stock intake system out of my Dodge. I didn't have too much of a problem putting the Volant system in, but I had to bend one of the brackets to make it fit better. (Maybe they sent me the wrong one?) It is also a very tight fit. The filter part is rammed up against the front of the truck, resulting light scratches along the heat shield. For the price... I wish it would've fit a little better, but I am happy with the results. The truck has a better throttle response and the MPG may have increased (I haven't calculated)"

"Very well built. Installation instructions had alot to be desired. Had to move a electrical harness for intake box to fit. Used rivnuts in lieu of hardware provided to install box to make removal easier if required at a later date. Sounds and looks great. Haven't had a chance to see if there is a MPG improvement. Definate power increase."

"The Volant Air Intake took me just over an hour to complete the installation. The hardest part was getting the OEM air intake out. The Volant Air Intake seem to fit better than the OEM model and I will probably purchase the ram air attachment soon. The Volant Air Intake increases the exhaust sound, but it's not too loud to be discouraged with this mod. You have to remember to disconnect your negative battery connection to ensure your computer resets to the increased airflow. I feel additional HP especially when I punch it but I am looking forward to the increased MPG even if it's only one MPG gain."

"The volant cold air intake looks good in my truck it was an easy install just one hose on the back side was a little hard to make reach. Seems to acthully help a little with the gas (or maybe I just drive slower now with prices) sounds great just gets a little loud before engine shifts all in all I would recommend it."

"The system was very easy to install. Noticed a slight improvement in lower RPMs but can really feel the difference when you step on it. I am still not sure about an improvement in MPG, maybe .5 to 1 MPG better. Sounds good when you step on it but as quiet as stock when cruising down the freeway."

"The Volant Cold Air Intake for the 2008 GMC 2500HD Duramax does what it says it will do. I am experiencing more horsepower and my highway gas mileage is up just about 1 mile per gallon. The throaty growl at 2000 RPM seems to be the same as I had with the stock intake, which is fine by me. I was actually a little concerned by some of the other reviews that said their truck was much louder with the intake installed. I was really just looking for the mileage increase. The installation leaves something to be desired. The fancy new cover for the unit has four screws that are a nightmare to install once the unit is in place, but can't go on before it is in place...maybe I should have checked the installation instructions, OH WAIT, there are none. Hey Volant, throw a step by step into the box and you will round out a near perfect product in my books."

"My truck has 15000 miles on it. I run 285/55 R 20 BF Goodrich all terrains. With cruise set @ 70 before CAI I got 20.4 MPG. After adding the Volant CAI & The Throttle body spacer I now get 24.3 MPG at same speed. I run 87 octane. Truck also has a noticeable increase in power. There is no doubt these to small upgrades helped with power and MPG's. Only took about 2 hours to install."
