Description

Increase performance up to 18 horsepower, add 40 lbs of torque and even save gas mileage with the Volant Cold Air Intake System! The rocket scientists at Volant have truly outdone themselves with this one.

The Hi-Flow Velocity Air Box breathes in oodles of performance-enhancing air via the massive air duct. Many Volant Cold Air Intakes also include an enclosed air box that takes power and efficiency higher. Some drivers even report an increase in gas mileage by 1 to 2 miles per gallon. What's more, it can take less than an hour using standard household tools to replace the old, suffocating factory air box.

Best yet, Volant gives most vehicles a performance filter choice: the original high-performance cotton-gauze filter with cleaning intervals of 35,000-50,000 miles, or the all-new oil-free PowerCore air filter, requiring maintenance after a whopping 100,000 miles.

"The look is great and the performance is spectacular. I lowered my EGT temp and the turbo spools up alot faster. Instalation isn't bad but the directions are teriable. You can figure it out but plan on scratching your head on a few things. Over all the power gain was well worth the price."

"I bought this for my 07 Xterra. Great sound/performance. Nice roar at WOT. I am now seeing about an extra 20-30 miles per tank. It will surely pay for itself in the long run. The only problem was with my particular vehicle installation. I had to move my horn a little bit in order to get it to fit. Otherwise, it's a great system and would definately recommend it to anyone!"

"It definitely makes a difference on power. The truck used to have a bit of lag when you floored it, After installing the vaolant air intake that is gone. It also sounds better like a v-8 should. Don't really know about the gas mileage I drive a company truck mostly so I haven't driven my Silverado much since I installed it."

"I got my Volant CAI in two days and installed. Even though the instructions were kinda shady, the installation was easy. I haven't had a chance to check mileage however there is a increase in power and throttle response. It even seems to enhance the sound of my Gibson Cat Back System."

98 Dodge Ram Volant Cold Air intake

"The installation was not as smooth as some intakes that I have had on other vehicles in the past. I had to disassemble the pre-assembled filter box to install the intake. Once installed it fit well after some minor adjusting to get everything lined up. The optional ram/cold air tube required a very minor tweaking on the transmission cooler lines to fit and also required cutting of the radiator surround splash guard. I bought this intake in hopes of improving my fuel mileage but have yet to see a difference as it was installed just 2 days before a cross country trip and have no other highway driving to compare the mileage to. But after 600 miles on fairly level highway I was getting the EPA rated 16 MPG highway out of the truck which is 10 years old and has 70,000 miles on it. I definitely like the looks of the intake compared to others, and the material is thicker than most so it seems better put together and I would expect it to last longer."

"When I initially received my Volant CAI, I wasn't able to install it because the company sent the wrong air duct. However, after solving that issue, the installation was relatively painless. I've definitely noticed any increase in response when I hit the gas pedal. I've also monitored my MPG, and it seems that it has went up by about 1 MPG. Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to beef up their engine performance as well as appearance."

"I have purchased two previous Volant Cool Air Intakes for my 2001 Ford Lightning and 2004 Lincoln Navigator. I am a fan of the exposed filter look however I'm a bigger fan of functionality which Volant Intakes provide. The looks of this Tundra intake are the best, the performance gains are heard, felt, and definitely make a difference. It sounds awesome and my truck really wakes up under WOT. I'm very pleased and the install was easy. I was able to do it in the dark around 10PM at night."

"The system is really nicly produced, but installation was a BITCH, i ahd to go to the auto parts store to buy different size hose clamps because the ones sent with the intake were to small, also it was really hard to force certain parts into the engine comparment. But in the end it has a great sound and deffintly produces a bit more HP. Also what ive found is that the throttle is MUCH more responsive, at least more so then stock. Overall i would suggest this part for anyone with a CTS."

"I just installed it today and can already hear/feel a difference driving it for just a very short time. I can tell my truck is getting more air and easier and it really picks up in high rpm ranges and feels more torquey overall. The install was decent, although I had to make some slight location adjustments of other components in the engine bay to fit it properly and was a tight fit. So far so good.."

"i got this in hope to save gas through city but didnt really see much of a difference. Although on the highway, i believe you get another 2mpg. then again i did drive fast all the time. This Cold Air Intake did add some power to my Xterra...and at high revs it sounds deep and amazing. Sounds like a V8...well if ur worried about getting this or not. i'd say go for it. For the price, its a great addition...and its quality."

"After reveiwing other options I chose the Volant system for my Tundra. The unit itself looks really nice, the fit could use some improvement on the intake box air inlet to fender area. I was a little disapointed to see that there were no holes pre-drilled for the MAF sensor location, it is supplied with 2 self tapping screws. The directions are on the low budget side, poor quality photo copies are what you get to work with. No warranty registration card or decals to proudly display the upgrade were included. Have not seen any fuel economy increase. I have noticed better performance, it seems more responsive and throaty upon acceleration. Shipping was free and fast, order received in 3 days."

"The intake itself is great. I bought the down tube with it and that is were the nightmare started. It is not an easy install at all. it will take you a while fit it and trim it. So beware and so far no real differance in mi or power than what I would expect with just the intake. The intake itself went in in 20 min and looks great. So save money an just get the intake."

"After installing the Volant intake (which was a breeze by the way), I definitely noticed a difference. It wasn't huge, but the tone and throttle response was much crisper. Also, when going through the upper rpm range, there isn't as much drop off in power as there was with the stock setup. This is my second Volant intake and plan to buy another in the future."

"Easy to see that Volant put a lot of time, research and effort into their design. Large Cold Air sealed box is impressive; as is the evident performance increase I noticed. Appearance is 5 Stars as well; the aluminum logo'd box cover is a great touch, and the heavy black plastic is sturdy and rough textured. Only weakness is the instructions; exloded diagrams are great for some, but some verbal guidance would be of benefit to all."

"I received the intake on time as promised. Overall the look of the intake is sweet really brightens up the engine bay. Not to bad on istall, took me about 45 minutes, had some trouble with the bolts going in. Ok as far as performance I can feel a little bit more power at higher rpms, and when it shifts its alot smoother. Not too much sound from the intake seeing is its an enclosed box. Ok gas mileage, I keep my foot in the gas more than i should, therefore only got 14.5 mpg. When I added the intake and drove a full tank taking it easy and getting on it at times i got 16.7 mpg, so there is improvement. I think i can squeeze another 1-1.5 mpg if i drive normal and keep my foot out of it."

"Good Louderintake and exhaust add some torque/power helped the gas mileage also had dual exhaust and spacer for intake. Box does not fit correctly to big hood does not close correctly have to unbolt box to fit correctly. I like it because it keeps filter cleaner longer than a K&N Gen. II filter because of box but, allows it to breathe like the K&N."
