"The volant cold air intake overall is a nice looking product. You can feel and hear the difference over stock, however it's not loud or annoying. The install was another story. The intake does not come with directions. The paperwork that comes with it does not tell you that you have to move some wiring to fit the airbox into place correctly. I had to modify the airbox itself to make it fit the way i felt it should. I'm a weekend home garage mechanic so I didn't find the install that difficult, but if it's your first time doing something like this you may want to get someone more expierenced to help you. If I could do it all over again I probably would have went with the S&B intake, it seems like it would fit better."

"I like the air intake alot. I was not sure how much it would help with performance, but I was pleasantly suprised. Pick up power was really noticable. You can really hear the air swirling under the hood now. Sounds pretty cool. I was suprised at how much difference it made. Not sure on fuel milage yet. Still too early to tell. You should get one."

"Had a 2004 Sierra 4.3L with a Volant Kit and Helix Throttle Body. On my last trip to Richmond, Va. I averaged 25.4 mpg on Interstate 64 in heavy Saturday traffic with the AC on.
That truck was totaled by a drunk driver, so I bought a new 2008 Sierra with a 4.8L engine. I added the Volant Kit and what a difference. The truck seemed super charged. I can't wait to add the Helix throttle body.
I would recommend the Volant Kit to anyone looking for increase performance. Its a great produce.

"Excellant quality product, looks awsome and sounds even better when you get on it. Just a few minor mods to mounting holes to fit properly. Could use a little better directions to make installation a little easier though. It is hard to keep your foot out of it after you hear that throaty growl but if and when I do as in cruise control on the highway my instant economy guage shows about 1mpg better at hwy speeds. Best looking, fitting, install CAI box I have used."

"This is an excellent product both for its appearence and performance. The only problem encounted was with the instalation, the bracket and nuts and bolts provided had the wrong size for attachment to the fender too small for the threading that already existed in the fender well. Unfortunately the bolt that came out of the factory air box was on a slide type bolt so it could not be used. I had to improvise and this added at least an hour or more to what would have been an easy install. This should be addressed with the future kits for the Hummer H3 ALPHA with the 5.3 V8."

"It was shipped and I received my order in a timely manner. I have to say it works very well,, just the installation was poor it needed modification in order for it to work. My truck this intake was meant for a 1998 ford turck and so on not for a 1997 but it just needs some modification and it should work. If you are not experience installation for is product on a 1997 truck will be difficult...."

"I installed this cold air intake in less than an hour. It was straight forward. No problems at all. I'm not sure about any gains yet but it certainly sounds like it's breathing better when you open it up. I installed this on my 06 mustang GT convertable. I added it to my Borlar axle back exhaust system."

Using in conjunction with Flowmaster dual exhaust.
A little harmonic buffering every once and awhile but livable.

"My box came damaged pretty bad. I was missing all of the installation hardware so I called Volant. The tech support there was great, he sent me out all the small hardware I needed to install this. I also mentioned the difficulty with the horn relocation, he said the relocation bracket was also on it's way. The item I purchased from AutoAnything didn't even have that listed on their packing slip. Next time I'm going to order direct from the factory.
Volant get a thumbs up.

"Installed on a new F-150. Like the look. Haven't driven truck far enough or long enough to rate any increased performance or increased MPG. While installtion was relatively easy and about an hour, am not totally pleased with the fit of the air box itself. Since they are "custom fit", I should not have to drill holes to mount the air box and it should just drop in to its location. Had to horse it around."

"Looks awesome. Installation wasa bit tricky because the square flat opening on new airbox didn't match the contour of the inner fender. A little adhesive-backed rubber stripping took care of that. I discovered that there is an additional opening in the bottom of the air box that allows more air flow but it could prove troublesome in highly dusty conditions or snow which is more likely where I'm from. When driven normally (not matting the throttle to hear the cooler-then-factory sound) I have seen real improvements in fuel economy. Prior to installing the best highway ONLY economy I got was about 15.6 MPG (US). Since the change I have recorded 16.7 MPG COMBINED. That's good news to me. Truck also stays in high gear longer on highway before downshifting , which helps economy. Have only had it on for a couple of months, so I'll report again."

"The Volant cool air induction for my 2000 Ranger 3.0
I must say is a slight disappointment. I expected better throttle response and a gas mileage increase. I thought at first that I had gained a bit of low end torque, but soon realized that it was just the sound of the intake that gave that impression. I have gained significant passing power from 60-80 but RPMs seem to fluctuate upon hard acceleration from 0-60. Recently I have tried to drive for gas mileage, but it has remained the same if not dropped a little. It may perform better on other vehicles, but I would'nt recommend this intake to anyone with a 3.0 litre Ford Ranger!"

"The "instructions" were worthless. And the hose they gave me didn't even work, the bend I needed had such a sharp angle I had to use the stock one. The holes for the Mass Air Flow Sensor wasn't even drilled out. Next time I'll stick with K&N, a lot better quality."

"With diesel prices the way they are, I was looking for a way to increase fuel economy. Installing a Volant CAI was the second step in trying to achieve the maximum economy. The Volant has improved both performance and fuel economy for my 06 Duramax 6.6.
When installing Volant in the 06 Silverado 2500, be sure you remove the bottom (stock)mounting plate. The contour of the Volant box does not match the plate configuration. The provided instructions do not discuss this step."
