Description

Increase performance up to 18 horsepower, add 40 lbs of torque and even save gas mileage with the Volant Cold Air Intake System! The rocket scientists at Volant have truly outdone themselves with this one.

The Hi-Flow Velocity Air Box breathes in oodles of performance-enhancing air via the massive air duct. Many Volant Cold Air Intakes also include an enclosed air box that takes power and efficiency higher. Some drivers even report an increase in gas mileage by 1 to 2 miles per gallon. What's more, it can take less than an hour using standard household tools to replace the old, suffocating factory air box.

Best yet, Volant gives most vehicles a performance filter choice: the original high-performance cotton-gauze filter with cleaning intervals of 35,000-50,000 miles, or the all-new oil-free PowerCore air filter, requiring maintenance after a whopping 100,000 miles.

"I like the look and sound of it. The instructions are one of the wost I ever seen. They were photo copied with photos you could not make out. As for the fit, It does not fit against the ferder and the hole were the old one gets it air does not line up. They should put that in there instructions or in the discription of the CAI. I do think if you call it a CAI it should get all of its air from out side the engine compartment but that would have to go for all of them."

"Product arrived with damage to the box. When I opened the box the CAI was packed into I found that it had six small pillow air cushions to protect my purchase. This was not enough to keep it safe. Other that the air breather tube sticking through the side of the box the aluminum volant cover with its protective blue wrap was damaged in transit from sliding around on the bottom of the box unprotected. I decided to do some touch up with a permenant marker to repair the damage. I did'nt want to send it back after waiting more than a month. Other than this and poor instructions the CAI did not match up with the factory bolt locations which required me to drill new holes to install."

"Installed easily. A little on the noisy side when truck downshifts going up hill, otherwise great. I'm older with some ear problems so noisy is not my objective, but if your younger you'll love the sound."

"Most of the install went well till i got to the air sensor, the hole should have been put on the right of the air intake tube, the wires for the sensor would not wretch, not even close. The hose from the breather would not fit with the factory set-up,for this kind of money vol ant should supply all the necessary items and better instructions. This my third unit my first two were no problem."

Easy Installation, Great Sound and Performance!

"Easy installation. Take precautions to clean the interiors of the intake housing and duct to free of any manufacturing debris/plastic shavings. Pre-drill pilot holes on the duct for the MAF (and clean the inside afterwards). Then start your install. Volant could and should have done a better job designing the fit around the fender; they added a foam gasket in the attempt to fix the gap but it is still there so I fixed that myself. The duct creates a problem for the engine cover so Volant rigged it by providing you with a riser -- but it does work and no big deal. The sound is awesome and the truck seems more responsive. Haven't had it long enough to validate the MPG gains or losses but it "appears" I'm getting better MPG based on the vehicle's average MPG and my reset trip meter/fill up calculations."

"After reviewing many other cai's I went with Volant for looks, price, and the high flow dry filter. I am not much on the oiling idea due to K&N I had in past. Sounds awesome at full throttle and response is much quicker. Not really any louder at normal driving and idle but hit passing gear and WOW! I have flo-pro duals and it definetly completes the sound i was looking for. I live in higher elavations and with towing a trailer I just like the fact my engine is sucking in more air. Not sure on HP or TQ gains but it feels much better over stock."
