"On a lot of cars, adding a CAI doesn't have a major impact. The L76 6.0L V8 in the Pontiac G8 is the most conservatively tuned version in the L76 family. The engine is very restricted at the intake and the Volant system is a huge improvement. It was easy to install (about 45 minutes). Couple with a specific tune and you can add 30 to 35 HP to your G8. You can't beat the bang for the buck!"

"The Volant CAI is the first upgrade on my Nissan Titan. Instantly noticed increased acceleration, and lower RPM's at highway speeds (increase MPG). I have had my ATV in the bed of my truck since I have installed the CAI, so it's hard to give a full review, however I do notice the extra power immediately after installation. Sound of the CAI is not noticeable until wide open throttle, or hard accelerating while passing. The sound is intense, and you can hear the "womping" of air going into the motor. Normal day to day driving you won't notice it at all. Installation was a bit different than others had mentioned. I had missing parts, a bolt, and some of the clamps that were supposed to come with. If you have a NAPA, or autozone near by, it's worth having some extra parts on hand just in case. Fit and finish is great, didn't think I would ever get the air box to fit up against the windshield washer fluid reservoir in the engine bay, however it will fit, give it time! Over all I would say BUY!"

"Over the years I have wasted thousands of dollars on performance parts that fall short of their claims. Volant hit a bullseye with this intake. My diesel never ran better and the faint roar from the box is sweet music to my ears. Thanks Volant, you have hats off on this product."

"It was a little expensive. It came with easy to understand directions. It tells you what tools you need to install, but not what you need to take out old system. It took me a little less than 2 hrs, which included finding tools needed to remove old parts. Sounds and looks great. Recently added an Edge evolution and a Flowmaster Force II exhaust system. All together good product. Have noticed an increase in HP and throttle response."

"Install took about an hour. No instructions but it was easy enough to figure out. I am still waiting to see the MPG inprovement but I do notice excelleration and throttle response improvement. I was able to salvage a piece of tubing from the old intake to serve as the missing link for the new one where it goes into the fender. Sounds great."

"I installed it in a 2003 Chevy S10 with a 4.3 engine. The directions don't tell you to remove a clip on the radiator wall after removing the stock air box but it is easy enough to figure it out. The hose clamps were barely long enough and I needed a larger one to fit over the mass air flow sensor. Overall it is an easy install and I does make a performance difference. After I installed a Helix throttle body spacer and that with the cold air intake made a huge difference in increased power. It was well worth it."

"So far I love this intake. I can tell an obvious improvement in the throttle response and smoothness of acceleration. I have yet to figure the MPG for this tank since I have installed it so I do not know the gains in that aspect yet. The only downside I found in it was the holes in the bonnet where it connects to the throttle body. The hole on the side of the bonnet that closest to the cab is at an awkward angle and makes it difficult to get a good bite on the screw to tighten it. The only other downside of these holes is that when you tighten the screws they want to pull through the holes in the bonnet. I know it says do not over tighten the screws in the instructions but it makes me nervous that when I take off the intake to do any work to my truck it will slowly mess up the holes making it not securely connect and stay on the throttle body."

"I'm very impressed with the performance/mileage increase. Increased my mileage from 16 to 18 intown/hwy combination. Have yet to go on a road trip to check hwy mileage, but I know it will be at least 3 mpg increase."

"Took about 2 hours to install including cleanup. Instructions were lacking, limited to diagrams and callouts, but with a little mechanical intuition, this is easily overcome. Installed for two weeks now, immediatly noticed a differance in the sound of the intake, particularly when the wastegate opens, reverberating like someone exhaling into a four inch pvc pipe. Unfortunaly, no "seat of the pants" improvement in performance, and a meager half mile (0.5) per gallon increase on the highway. However, throttle respose is improved as a result of the less restricted air flow. EGT's down about 10F under normal use. My particulary reasoning in looking at this intake vs others, is its ability to bring in cold air, while avoiding waterloging the filter and engine when splashing through water puddles and heavy rain, which can be a problem with other, exposed filter intakes. Overall good purchase, time will tell the rest."
