"I purchased this intake to replace the stock air system. So far is works great, increased horsepower and 1 or 2 miles per gallon. Really gives the Tahoe more pep. Installed on a 2004 Tahoe with 5.3 liter flex fuel engine."

2006 H3 V5 3.5L Power & Airflow Unleashed!!

"Ferocious, Growls like a Bear from the moment one steps on the pedal, The sound is as nasty as it gets when it comes to accelerating from a stationary position. Words and images cannot really describe the full effect of installing this K&N performance Cold Air Intake.
The moment I started the engine after install, the growl was very evident. Mind you I was still in my driveway. All BS aside, the performance in terms of power, quicker acceleration, and higher RPMs before switching into the higher gears will really amaze you. Though the H3 speedometer goes up to 110mph…. at about 90mph, the computer adjust\restricts additional power to the engine. With this K&N CAI, I'm hitting 100mph (Note: In a controlled environment) plus with more power to spare. The actual vehicle traction control light periodically lights up when I get on it!!!
I have not really seen the MPG (91 Octane) increase that some have stated but like others, it's soooooooooooooooooooo hard to keep your foot out of it. So in summary, AutoAnything had the best price out there, shipping was very quick, and even there Customer Service Dept\K&N Techs were very helpful in answering an edge Trim question. The K&N CAI picture parts diagram needs to be magnified 2X to distinguish certain bolts\nuts from others. Removing the stock resonator and my previous K&N Air filter was pretty much a breeze. What took the most time was assembling the heat shield and wrapping the rubber edging around the heat shield. All in all, a very simple install, but you must have the stated ratchet tools and the smaller extender to fasten the support arm to your H3 engine. It took me approx. 1.5 hours from beginning to end. The first week of use, I actually saw a decrease in MPG but going into the second week and driving more sensible while predominately highway driving, I am starting to notice a slight increase in mpg, but it is so hard from just getting on it when you see a fellow H3 next to you. If performance is what your looking for, I would s"

"i recently bought a 2007 nissan frontier king cab nismo edition 4x4 and wanted to add a lil shine and performance under the hood. man what a difference in sound this thing makes when you stomp on the throttle, not too mention how good the chrome looks. i haven't noticed much of a gain in gas milage area but ive heard this helps. highly recomend getting one.
installation was pretty straight forward. took about an hour and half. im very satisfied with this purchase"

"I really like this intake, far better than others i have tried. Mounts solid, sounds and runs good. Easy install too. Only con is i have noticed a high pitched whistle and my heck engine light came on after a while saying vacum leak.......i went through and tightened all the clamps and hopefully it will stay off. Overall though this is my favorite CAI i have ever tried. Very happy with it."

BIGGER AIR; BIGGER PERFORMANCE
Posted on 12/07/2007 by Sheldon L. (Coraopolis,PA)

"Tremendous increase in throttle response (especially above 2,500 rpm) brings with it the potential to burn more gas! Definitely not a gas saving accesory; the power doesn't come from thin air.
More engine noise under load; mildly abnoxious but acceptable.
Gret looking addition to the otherwise blah-black engine compartment.
Instructions were complete in terms of sequence; but definitely did not contain all the details and tooling recomendations that were required to do the deed. They could do with a thorough re-write and lots of good closeup photos. Recommendation to
K&N: Post them to the web if the cost of reproducing paper is too high.
Under-hood experience experience is definitely required to avoid inadvertent damageto both the Intake Kit and the Air Mass Sensor.
Recommendation to K&N #2: Lose the clip-on rubber gasketing over the entire perimeter of the intake shroud. Its useful purpose in sealing to the closed hood covers only a fraction of its 4 ft. linear dimension. The rest is a pain to install, especially with the meager instructional details."

K&N 77 Intake on '03 Escalade

"Great price, very easy installation, took about 45 min., no problems at all. Most of the HP gain comes around 4K RPM, which is difficult to acheive except under very extreme towing or passing in a lower gear uphill, but I'm sure there is a definite gain in HP with the less restrictive air flow. I've yet to notice a MPG gain in fuel efficiency, but really haven't tracked it either."

"My previous truck was a '94 S-10 with the H.O. 4.3L V-6...I installed the plastic bodied FIPK onto it and noticed an improvement in power and effeciency. When I got my '07 Ridgeline, I just had to get the new polished 77 series for it. I have noticed an improvement in throttle response and power. It does come with an increase in noise from under the hood when I "romp" on the throttle hard, but it is quite acceptable and sounds good, but when driving normally, it is as quiet as the stock, highly restrictive airbox. This is an item that everyone should get for their truck!"

"Fuel mileage on my 2004 Dodge,4X4,1500, 4.7 litre increased 2 mpg. Power & response is much improved. This is over the K7N filter I replaced in the stock air box. Considerable restriction there. The instructions rate a 9. You best be mechanically inclined and able to think out of the box, as there are some minor modifications you will have to make. I highly reccomend the system but slightly overpriced. Free shipping was the final deciding factor. AutoAnything is great to deal with. I have purchased several items from them over the years with complete satisfaction. T. Saylor.."
