"I found the intake to be rally loud which I really like. It did not give that noticable power increase but it helped my truck hold gears a tad bit longer when climbing hills. It was Really easy to install and Looks good. Mixed with a power-aid throttle body spacer it will turn heads with a really loud whistle. Havent noticed any gas mileage yet but i am running 33's with stock gears so... My engine seems to be running 200rpm lower at idle so thats some sort of better gas mileage right? All in all I guess it was worth the money."

K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit - 2001 Tahoe Z-71

"Kit was easy to install, approximatelly 1 hour. Once you reconnect the battery and start engine you'll need to hold throttle open to keep it running (computer adjusting). The engine stalled a couple of times and then worked fine, no problems. I went ahead and changed plugs while the motor was cool. Performance definetly enhanced, smoked tires for the first time. Mileage city improved 2mph. Deep throat when you nail it, wife not crazy about it. However, normal throttle operation sound from engine normal way past 80mph. AutoAnything price for the K&N was cheapest by $80 (shopped around) service and shipping EXCELLENT. I've added AutoAnything to my favorites and will recommend to anyone... Lou - Miami Shores, FL."

"When the product was shipped it was missing two parts...called K&N and they promply shipped them. When fitted to my truck and after unplugging the battery for a couple of mins so the computer can relearn the airflow...the performance was noticable. Louder sound, about 1.5 mpg more on the highway, and of course the acceleration factor. Very good product."

"Took me about 2 hrs to put this filter - no fault of the included directions - just didn't have all the right tools lined out. Once intalled, immediately notices and significant increase on HP. GPH stayed the same but that tell me a good thing since I've been heavy footin'. Once will update once I stop punching it and drive it normally.
Thnx!
Danny"

"Over all I'm pretty pleased. I had a small problem with the install. I'm not sure if I just striped a bolt or if the bolt wasn't meant to be removed, but I had to take some steps that weren't in the instructions. The rest of the install was easy, and I'm a novice. The results have been good with the increased power in a V-6 06 Grd Cherokee. I haven't seen much of an improvement in the gas mileage but I'm assuming its because my foot has been a little heavier since the install. Well worth the money."

"All I can say is "WOW." What a difference in the power. However, I have not been able to keep my foot out of the gas enough to notice a difference in MPG yet. It also makes the Jeep sounds like it has a V8 under the hood. I would definately recommend this product to anyone!"

"I put this intake on my 2004 Ram Hemi. Great investment! Notice gains from the middle to the top of the power band. Kind of a motor head so it only took me an hour to put it on. Recommend using this in conjunction with a throttle body spacer for more low end tork. Also using a good performance chip will help smooth things out."

"Here's a full-perspective review about 2.5 months after installing the product. The K&N 77 series intake is one of the best bang-for-the-buck purchases I have made. As far power gains go, without a dyno, it definitely has more power. On my 4.6L, after installing the intake it was able to hold OD on a 6-7% grade at 55 mph. I also noticed a slight seat-of-the-pants horsepower increase(not huge, so if that's what your looking for, look elsewhere and plan on spending lots of money). On a strictly Ford note, the low end sluggishness is reduced by what feels about 50%. On idle and under normal acceleration, there is very little if any increase in resonance in the cab, but at idle outside you can hear a slight hiss from that huge cotton filter sucking all of that air; on the other hand, under heavy load and heavy acceleration, in-cab it drowns out my Flowmaster 50 series (with dual rear exit) with a deep exhaust-like note. Also, for those who are looking to save gas on the side, my mileage increases where .5 mpg city only, 1 mpg mixed city/highway, and 1.5-2 mpg highway only. In order to get those increases you have to accelerate normally and try to stay in OD when passing. The fit and finish of the product was excellent, and it only took 1 hour to install. After 2.5 months and one washing on the tube, it's polished finish still looks like chrome fresh from the plater.
P.S. One note on 4.6L installation, on the EGR system in order to get the provided hose to work you must remove the black plastic airflow muffler between the EGR and the top intake bung(don't worry, there should be no added noise from doing this)."

"I put this intake on my 2006 Tacoma. I received the package in 2 or 3 days from when I ordered it. When it arrived I noticed the box was pretty beat up, but the contents were unharmed. Installation was uneventful even though there was some missing hardware, and some hardware that was of the incorrect size. Performance wise I'm really impressed. It definitely added some serious grunt on the bottom end and better horsepower throughout the entire RPM range. As for improved gas mileage? I don't know I can't keep my foot out of it long enough to get decent gas mileage. I'm sure once I start driving normally though, my MPG should be an improvement."

"The kit was pretty simple to install. I took my time and closely followed the directions and it took me a couple of hours. I am no mechanic and was apprehensive about altering my new Tacoma, but it went on easily with no problems. Since installation, it seems to have given me better acceleration, though I have taken it pretty easy though the break in period. It gives the truck a growl that sounds great. I haven't noticed an increase in MPG. I hope that over the life of the truck, it will help keep the intake clean and save money over buying paper air filters. Overall, I'm pleased. The jury will be out for a while on any cost savings."
