"While the K&N parts continue to be 1st class, their instructions leave a lot to be desired. The picures are fuzzy and the written instructions could be more discriptive. Improve the instructions and you have a great product."

K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit Air Intake for 1988 Integ

"The Integra seems to breathe a lot better. Didn’t notice any fuel economy improvement yet, but haven't use a full tank since the FIPK was installed. I also haven't noticed the increased air intake noise that others have mentioned. I did leave the air ducting in place to direct air to the FIPK."

"It increases the power of my Stealth, and makes the car have a better sound, but i already have a magnaflow exhaust so it sounds good anyway. But i dont know about gas milage cause i have only had it for a few days. I expected a little more but its still worth your money."

"Recently installed on my 06 silverado Vortex MAX and all I can say is wow. The engine already had a lot of get up and go before and now it just screams when it hits second gear. Really happy with the added power. Also gave my exhaust a much deeper sound. Paired with some flowmaster 50 and couldn't be happier. Still looking for the promised flue economy gains but those will come when I can learn to get my foot off the pedal."

Mileage decreased: 16.2 down to 14.7
Posted on 12/23/2007 by Tom A. - 2003 Dodge Ram (Rio Rancho,NM)
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
"2003 Dodge Diesel (Auto, Quadcab, Shortbed) - The K&N was easy to install (less than an hour). The air suction sounds like a bus but the truck runs better: it feels lighter, it's quicker.
AutoAnything.com was great, easy to buy stuff, great website, free shipping on my purchase and I got it in 3 days. Excellent service!
But mileage from the K&N is a problem - 16.2 down to 14.7 ...a lose of 1.5 mpg (almost 10%) . Times 30 gallons equals 45 miles per tank. Divided by 14.7 mpg equals 3.06 extra gallons needed, times $3.35 a gallon is... an extra $10 a tank.
So the K&N not only cost me $190... but 3 tanks requires another $30 a month or $360 a year in extra fuel costs.
OK, you don't buy a truck for the mileage but I've put K&N's in other vehicles and actually increased both the power and mileage. Not this time...
To top it off, six weeks later I put on Nitto 305/70/17's. The truck looks great, runs great and rides like a dream. And, around town, I get 12.8 miles per gallon! (18.3 on the highway, down from 21.4)
Between the K&N and the tires... that's a loss of 21% ($27 a tank, or $78 month, or $936 a year).
I think it's time to sell this truck..."

K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake Systems
Posted on 12/22/2007 by Michael B. - 2004 Mitsubishi Evolution (Old Lyme,CT)

"The K&N intake was a great buy. The hardest part of the project was taking the stock system out of the Evo. Once the stock system was out, installing the K&N system was pretty easy. No parts were missing, and the installation instructions were great. It took about 3 to 4 hours, mostly cause this was my first time doing something like this and I wanted to take my time. After taking the car out for a spin after the install, you can hear the K&N letting ALOT more air into the engine and it definitely pulls harder in the higher RPM range . It is a little louder than the stock system, but it adds a great sound to your car. I would give this product 5 out of 5 Stars."

"I bought this intake with high expectations and I certainly got what I paid for. This intake improved my response time, for example, When Im floating my rev around 4k and I punch it their is less lag. And one of the best features of this intake is the SOUND, its amazing. The instructions were very easy to follow and I never came to a situation when I wasn't sure of what to do. I havent noticed any power difference or gas mileage but Ive only had this intake for about 2 weeks. This is a great buy and you wont regret it."

"I got the cold air intake system, and it works great. I'm still a little worried about puddles but you can really tell a difference. Hisses sometimes until up to about 4000 RPM then that baby roars. You can really feel the difference. I plan on getting a Dyno test after i get a new intake manifold."
