"Recently installed on my 06 silverado Vortex MAX and all I can say is wow. The engine already had a lot of get up and go before and now it just screams when it hits second gear. Really happy with the added power. Also gave my exhaust a much deeper sound. Paired with some flowmaster 50 and couldn't be happier. Still looking for the promised flue economy gains but those will come when I can learn to get my foot off the pedal."

Mileage decreased: 16.2 down to 14.7

"2003 Dodge Diesel (Auto, Quadcab, Shortbed) - The K&N was easy to install (less than an hour). The air suction sounds like a bus but the truck runs better: it feels lighter, it's quicker.
AutoAnything.com was great, easy to buy stuff, great website, free shipping on my purchase and I got it in 3 days. Excellent service!
But mileage from the K&N is a problem - 16.2 down to 14.7 ...a lose of 1.5 mpg (almost 10%) . Times 30 gallons equals 45 miles per tank. Divided by 14.7 mpg equals 3.06 extra gallons needed, times $3.35 a gallon is... an extra $10 a tank.
So the K&N not only cost me $190... but 3 tanks requires another $30 a month or $360 a year in extra fuel costs.
OK, you don't buy a truck for the mileage but I've put K&N's in other vehicles and actually increased both the power and mileage. Not this time...
To top it off, six weeks later I put on Nitto 305/70/17's. The truck looks great, runs great and rides like a dream. And, around town, I get 12.8 miles per gallon! (18.3 on the highway, down from 21.4)
Between the K&N and the tires... that's a loss of 21% ($27 a tank, or $78 month, or $936 a year).
I think it's time to sell this truck..."

"Have a buddy to help. Have a blow dryer close by to warm up the fittings. It took about an hour and a half. I get better gas mileage and way more horsepower from the intake itself. When getting on it the intake is loud and sounds good. i would recommend buying it."

K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake Systems

"The K&N intake was a great buy. The hardest part of the project was taking the stock system out of the Evo. Once the stock system was out, installing the K&N system was pretty easy. No parts were missing, and the installation instructions were great. It took about 3 to 4 hours, mostly cause this was my first time doing something like this and I wanted to take my time. After taking the car out for a spin after the install, you can hear the K&N letting ALOT more air into the engine and it definitely pulls harder in the higher RPM range . It is a little louder than the stock system, but it adds a great sound to your car. I would give this product 5 out of 5 Stars."

"I bought this intake with high expectations and I certainly got what I paid for. This intake improved my response time, for example, When Im floating my rev around 4k and I punch it their is less lag. And one of the best features of this intake is the SOUND, its amazing. The instructions were very easy to follow and I never came to a situation when I wasn't sure of what to do. I havent noticed any power difference or gas mileage but Ive only had this intake for about 2 weeks. This is a great buy and you wont regret it."

"I got the cold air intake system, and it works great. I'm still a little worried about puddles but you can really tell a difference. Hisses sometimes until up to about 4000 RPM then that baby roars. You can really feel the difference. I plan on getting a Dyno test after i get a new intake manifold."

"I just bought my 2007 F150. It had a decent sound with the factory intake, but I wanted the extra power and fuel economy that come with the intake. From reading reviews I knew it would also add an aggressive sound. It does!! If you are gentle with the throttle you might not even hear the extra sound, but when you lay into it, you unleash a beast!! I was shocked to say the least! WOW!! Amazing sound, and an extra bit of thrust when I need it! The only thing I can think of that I'm not quite satisfied with is that there is a bit more of an air wine or whistle than I was expecting or like. It almost seems like it has quieted down a bit over the last couple of weeks, but it is still present. Wish the whistle was quieter!!
Installation took about an hour and a half (as projected), and wasn't too difficult. The installation directions could be clearer with better wording and clearer pictures, but it was still pretty understandable. I was missing one washer from the kit, but it wasn't a major thing. No big deal. Over all, very satisfied and highly recommend this intake! I have always put K&N air filters in my vehicles, but this is my first full intake. I love it! I'm sure it won't be my last!!"

"This intake kicks all kinds of a$$. Plus, for the money, i think it is the best deal. AEM's whistle like a mad man. This whistles just enough to let you know its working (plus i like it). I can feel a slight increase in performence, and throttle response. this effect will only get better with more mod's. If you really want to feel this intake you need to get the hot air out (with more free-flow exhaust). Hope this helped! Overall 5 out of 5 stars, and with exhaust and more mods it will go to 10 out of 5 stars."

"I had doubts about paying that much money for an air filter, but this CAI is much more than just an air filter and definitely worth it. I don't have access to a dyno, so I can't give any specifics on power gained, but throttle response is a lot quicker and I can tell my Mustang GT accelerates better also. Gas mileage improved roughly 3 mpg also, up to 29 - 30 mpg cruising at 70 mph on the highway! I read the installation instructions thoroughly and laid out all the parts before I even opened the hood, so removal of the stock air cleaner and installation of the K&N CAI went smoothly and took an hour give or take a few minutes."
