"Definite increase in pick up both off the line and later in the power band. The engine roars when you drop the hammer. Installation was a breeze. The only problem I have with the system is the box around the intake filter could fit better. It doesn't seal by the wheel well that great and the hole that the intake tube goes through is too big and has no type of seal, so hot air from the engine compartment blows into the intake, over all though a good worthwhile purchase"

"Installation wasn't bad at all. Directions were mainly to the point! you can put the intake together for the most part inside if you didn't want to do it outside~
It sounds great, however i don't really see a huge difference in throttle response at low range. Mainly mid range and then i can tell. Its a great product and sounds awesome. I have flow masters for exhuast and i can hear the intake over it sometimes, sounds mean! too early to comment on if i am saving any for mpg~ overal it was a good buy!"

"Sealed box from K&N shipped and arrived exactly on time. Key parts were missing (Transition hose & clamp). K&N shipped out same night, arrived next day.
I should have verified all parts were in box before dismanteling the factory set-up. Made it all work by using a piece of the stock hose and modified it pending arrivial of the balance of the parts.
Very pleased I elected to install K&N Cold Air Intake

I have a 2004 chevy silverado and i gained about 2 mpg with ease. i deffiently recommend installing this on any vehicle."

"I am a middle school science teacher who has had no experience with car repair or installation.
I didnt know much about how to increase HP on a car let alone install the parts.
I received my FIPK2 and read the directions over for a day or two and preassembled a few parts the night before.
The install took 20 to 30 mins! The directions were great!
The product looks really nice under the hood and it sounds so much better when I punch it!
I noticed an increase in my acceleration right off the bat.
Im truly happy with this product and there is a gain in HP. You can tell right away. I have not hooked my car up to a dyno but when there is a difference, one that you can notice right away......who cares.
Great product and highly recommended."

"It makes the engine intake sounds louder. It makes hissing sound like a viper on your initial acceleration, then the hissing sound right away turns into a roar sound when your car starts to take off. For my car, 2003 BMW 330ci, it feels like the initial start time is not as responsive as the factory setup (at lower rpm), then once the car starts to take off it feels like the rpm climbs faster than original setup. Overall, I am satisfy with the result. However, the installation was a little too challenge for me and i had to pay a professional shop to have it installed for me. Hope my experience can somewhat help your decision this product. Happy acceleration!"

"HAPPY FATHER'S DAY...
I just got my truck back from the paint booth just in time for Father's Day. Truck looked so good that I had to do a little to add performance and gas mileage. I have a 1990 Ford F150 with a 5.8L or 351W for you older guys. Anyone that has a truck like this knows that the gas mileage is bad. I averaged 8 to 9 miles per gallon before K&N was installed. I must note that I also installed a Trans Dapt throttle body spacer along with the K&N Cold Air Intake system. Oh and a cat back exhaust with Flowmaster muffler from Midas. I just topped off the truck again about 30 mins ago. The truck took 5.309 gallons and I drove 75 miles since last fill up. If you do the math, I got 14.13 MPG. That is a jump of 6 MPG increase. I think that I could get 16 MPG if I stop playing around with the truck and flooring it. I would like to mention that of the 75 miles that I drove, 25 miles of it was stock. Meaning the Cold Intake, Throttle body spacer and exhaust enhancement was not installed yet. I definetly recommend this, but would also install a throttle body spacer with it. The HP you can feel when stepping on the gas. I recommend the Trans Dapt throttle body spacer cause you don't get that whurling hissing sound like the others. It will hiss a little at low RPMs, but not all the time."

"I bought and installed the K&N 57-2556 on my 2005 Ford F-150 5.4L supercrew. Installation was more in-depth than any other intake I've installed but still was not hard, just more work. It took a little over an hour. Almost 2x longer than most and I've install around 10 intakes on mine or friends and familie's vehicles. I've notice slightly better mileage, highway driving mileage is the most noticable. The lighter you are on the petal means the better mileage you are going to get. The engine is defintely louder, which is something I didn't want to do. The engine is louder but sounds good. But its only noticeable at higher RPM or when I stomp on it."
