"I installed this system thinking I would gain HP and mileage. I did not really notice any gain in either category. It sounds different but the mileage is no better and no noticeable diff in power, don't waste your money!!"

"I decided to try the FIPK Intake on my Explorer to get a little more 'umph' out of it and possibly a little better mileage. The kit guarantees over 8 hp increase on my engine - it feels like 20! There is absolutely no hesitation, the transmissiion downshifts effortlessly, and it's like driving a new truck. Did I mention that this truck has 168k on it, which some would consider a waste of money on something that old, but I plan on running this truck for a few more years. I may consider adding a Flowmaster now to complete the increased airflow system. BTW, it took just over an hour to install, however I had familiarized myself with the installation instructions provided online. I will definitely add this system to any rig I own in the future, as I have thought of a few vehicles from my past that could have benefitted from this kit. Buy it; you won't be disappointed, and Auto Anything has the best price!"

"The FIPK works fine...I've had them on 3 other vehicles. I just wish the metal piece that the filter sits in was designed better and insulated the filter from the engine heat."

"This K&N CAI added about 5 horses. I definately feel a difference in throttle response. Also I can hear the engine "sucking" in air and it sounds really good! Definately worth the money paid to bring back some dead horses!"

"Good system. Noticeable increase in acceleration off the start. Installation was a snap. Sounds normal - until you get on it a little bit. Then it's loud! I like it. Have not seen any increase in MPG."

"I purchased the filter system for my 99 toyota tacoma 2.7l 4x4. It gave a noticable improvement in highway driving, where the truck was lacking power. The sound is nice, with an intake howl that makes driving this slow ass truck a little more exciting."

"I had already installed a K&N filter in my Nitro and that improved the gas mileage a couple mpg. Now, after installing the K&N intake, I didn't notice it get any better gas mileage. So whether you replace the whole intake with K&N, or you just replace the filter, your going to get about the same gas mileage upgrade. But, I can't complain because I didn't buy an SUV for the good gas mileage, haha. The REAL difference is the horsepower and throttle response! Usually when you STEP on the throttle it takes a second to kick in before it takes off... NOT ANYMORE! Whether I'm taking off from a stop sign, or I'm already going 30-40mph, when I step on the gas I feel it go! No more sluggish performance. It also has a deeper purrr now. I just need to get an exhaust system now. =) A++"

"I had been aware of this technology for a few years. My wife decided to sell our tow vehicle (Ford Expedition) for something smaller with better gas mileage. I found myself having to add a tow package to my Ford Explorer. The K&N FIPK seemed like a necessary accessory to help the truck breath. Not only did I see gains at the pump, but the throttle response has increased. Not to mention the change in tone coming from the exhaust."

"I have a 2005 GMC Sierra with 5.3 Installation was so easy it almost installed itself. Throttle response and power improved a noticeable amount. This at the expense of slightly increased intake noise, and that only at the more open throttle settings, not normal driving settigs. That pleasing roar is part of the fun anyway. Have not had it on long enough to report anything about gasoline mileage. First tank got 18.8, about it's normal. other similar trucks i have had got 1.0 to 1.5 better on average. Thats 30 day average, not trip average."

"Easy to install and looks decent but makes whistling noise between 1700 and 2000 rpms. I wouldn't mind if it was at a higher rpm range when you gas it hard but my vehicle is in the 1700-2000 range almost all the time."

"Having owned K&N cold air intakes in the past helped me to purchase this one. However, this FIPK on my F-150 made gains like no others prior. The engine sound completly changed it is much more beastly. The throttle response is touchy, the acceleration has improved greatly. Not to metion it just look bad to the bone under the hood. This is by far the best K&N package out there. I give it 10 out of 10."

"The K&N kit offered ease of installation with great instructions (step by step with pictures). Once installed we took the Xterra out for a test drive and immediately noticed a difference in the trucks performance and the supercharger seemed to have better immediate response. I've bought K&N before and highly recommend their products. Now we will wait and see how the gas mileage improves."

"All around really good product. Appearance is awesome. installlation was a sinch except i didn't have the square bracket that adapted to the Z-Bracket. So i had to build one from some scrap medal, or it would have took only about 30 minutes to install, but took me an hour for installation because of the missing bracket. Throttle is definitley more responsive and got a 2-4 mpg gain out of the deal. Very cool!"

"Installation was pretty straight forward. About an hour or two to complete. Havent notice any increase in gas mileage yet but a definite increase in power. Sounds much more intimidating than the stock intake. K&N built a great product."
