Description

More passing power, more towing power and better acceleration. The K&N FIPK (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) smoothes and straightens huge volumes of incoming air, allowing your engine to breathe deep and roar. You’ll feel the power across the entire RPM range.

The backbone of the FIPK is the high-flow K&N Filtercharger air filter in K&N’s signature pink color. It’s washable, reusable, and lasts for the life of your ride. Couple that with the custom crosslink nylon intake tube, and the K&N FIPK Air Intake runs faster and cooler than the competition.

Installation? It’s a cinch. K&N packs the FIPK with a complete hardware kit and detailed step-by-step instructions to get the job done in less than an hour and a half. It even mounts to factory locations—no modifications or drilling. And, K&N protects your FIPK Air Intake Kit with a 10-year/1,000,000-mile warranty. Order now, and feel the FIPK difference everywhere you drive.

Notes

  • Emissions-related parts for new model year vehicles may be in "pending" status for CARB certification. Earning certification takes time, but will be complete before your new vehicle's first smog check.
  • AutoAnything’s exclusive 90-day money back guarantee: try it out and if it doesn't fully meet your expectations – installation was too difficult, performance gains weren’t impressive - send it back in any condition for a full refund. AutoAnything is not responsible for return shipping.
  • CARB exempt products are legal for use in all 50 states. Products that are not CARB exempt are legal in most states, but may not be used in California or states with similar emissions control laws.

"Overall, the intake is nice. It did require some modifying to mount it. But it was easy to install. Im not sure if i notice a difference, but at least the engine compartment looks cleaner."

"My 1998 Dakota 5.2L was bone stock, but the fipk added much needed midrange punch, and the top end is outstanding!! My Magnum got its' bullets back, 'cause this thing pulls harder than ever and the power delivery is smooth, not peaky. I've only had it a few weeks but I can tell that the gas mileage is slightly better. This is not a bad investment nor difficult install for the average enthusiast on a budget."

"I installed my K&N in just over 2 hrs...but really knowing what i was getting into, I quickly summed it all up. The unit itself was not too hard in installing - once i had the basics of what i was going to do, what had to be done and how to do it.If I had to do another one of these i could do it in less than half the time. The only problem i had was that the instructions could be a little better. The drawings could be a little more detailed. I did have to resort to the internet for more(better diagrams) I also broke off the black plastic piece on the tube.I was able to find one at the auto parts store so i was back in business. I received my free replacement in the mail shortly after i called and told them. All in all i'm happy with install. I have not had it long enough to actually test the MPG but i can tell you that there is a lot more noise under the hood than before! I checked and found out the noise i was hearing is supposed to be normal."

"I have a 06' Chevy 8.1L. It was very easy to install but have found out that it does rub on the fan guard. Easy modification took care of this problem. I had better throttle response, haven't had long enough to see an improvement in gas mileage yet. I would recommend this product as a must have."

"The heat and water shield, along with the plastic intake tube make this the perfect cold air intake. The plastic does not transfer heat to the intake air like the metal ones do. Be careful when installing. Two reasons. First, the hose clamp will easily fold the plastic intake tube if you tighten it too much. Second, it was impossible for me to fit the intake tube into the rubber-like transition collar with the collar clamped in place on the intake manifold. I had to remove the collar and work hard to get the plastic tube into it and clamp it, then install the whole thing onto the intake manifold. I haven't had it long enough to figure a change in fuel efficiency."

"I've only had it on a little over a week and I have already noticed a difference in power and a little better gas. The only thing I didn't like about the install was the lining you had to manually put on around the heat shield (that took about as much time as the rest of the install), other than that, it was a breaze to install."

"On the average, it was pretty easy to install. I had to adapt the manifold hose grommet. I don't know if it was my imagination or not, but the truck did seem to have more pickup. The real test will be when I pull the boat for the first time. I am trying to eke out a little more power from the small 6 cylinder engine."

"This filter kit does not fit in a filter box, so it is out in the open which gives it more air (maybe more hot air, I'm not sure) I have not noticed any difference in horsepower or fuel milage, but I can definitely here it sucking air like never before (maybe because it's not in the air box) All in all I love it. I never have to replace it and the open cone filter should give it more air and protect better with the oil from the recharge kit (not included)"

About what I expected

"K&N did a great job with the instructions, except for the very end with installing the acutal filter - I had to take most of the kit apart again just to squeeze the filter in. Also, I have no idea what normal operation with this kit is supposed to sound like (it's definately more airy sounding). So when the instructions indicate to "listen for abnormal sounds" it leaves one to wonder. I did notice the supercharger spools up at 2.5K instead of the usual 3K. Although this provides power more quickly, I assume it is also increasing wear on the engine. Hopefully, everything will be fine."
