"I had been aware of this technology for a few years. My wife decided to sell our tow vehicle (Ford Expedition) for something smaller with better gas mileage. I found myself having to add a tow package to my Ford Explorer. The K&N FIPK seemed like a necessary accessory to help the truck breath. Not only did I see gains at the pump, but the throttle response has increased. Not to mention the change in tone coming from the exhaust."

Perfect fit

"I have a 2005 GMC Sierra with 5.3 Installation was so easy it almost installed itself. Throttle response and power improved a noticeable amount. This at the expense of slightly increased intake noise, and that only at the more open throttle settings, not normal driving settigs. That pleasing roar is part of the fun anyway. Have not had it on long enough to report anything about gasoline mileage. First tank got 18.8, about it's normal. other similar trucks i have had got 1.0 to 1.5 better on average. Thats 30 day average, not trip average."

Whistling is annoying

"Easy to install and looks decent but makes whistling noise between 1700 and 2000 rpms. I wouldn't mind if it was at a higher rpm range when you gas it hard but my vehicle is in the 1700-2000 range almost all the time."

"Having owned K&N cold air intakes in the past helped me to purchase this one. However, this FIPK on my F-150 made gains like no others prior. The engine sound completly changed it is much more beastly. The throttle response is touchy, the acceleration has improved greatly. Not to metion it just look bad to the bone under the hood. This is by far the best K&N package out there. I give it 10 out of 10."

"The K&N kit offered ease of installation with great instructions (step by step with pictures). Once installed we took the Xterra out for a test drive and immediately noticed a difference in the trucks performance and the supercharger seemed to have better immediate response. I've bought K&N before and highly recommend their products. Now we will wait and see how the gas mileage improves."

"All around really good product. Appearance is awesome. installlation was a sinch except i didn't have the square bracket that adapted to the Z-Bracket. So i had to build one from some scrap medal, or it would have took only about 30 minutes to install, but took me an hour for installation because of the missing bracket. Throttle is definitley more responsive and got a 2-4 mpg gain out of the deal. Very cool!"

"Installation was pretty straight forward. About an hour or two to complete. Havent notice any increase in gas mileage yet but a definite increase in power. Sounds much more intimidating than the stock intake. K&N built a great product."

"My son and I installed hte K&N unit on my 2008 Ford F-150 5.4 Litre. Not too bad to install as long as you follw the step by step instructions. Persormance was felt instantly. The truck only has 32 miles on it, so it will break in with it. I am about to install the Flowmaster 50 Series Catback system which will enhance the power I just gain with the K&N Assy. Truly incredable!!"

"This was an easy install on a 2003 Ford F250 Superduty. It took about 30 minutes to install with very simple to follow instructions. The improvement is very noticeable with the throttle response being much better then before. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has an F250 Superduty!!!"

"Intake for 04 Chev. Col. Shipped as stated, all parts and directions included. Installion instructions were well written and easy to follow. Only problem noted was the fit up of the air sheild to the fender well, had air gaps that the rubber seal did not cover. Very good performance increase. Power increase was at least what was advertised or more. Tom, T.C. Texas"

"The directions for instalation were hard to read sometimes. AS an example, it would say use the extra hole in the radiator support, but it didnt really say where the hole was. Besides minor instruction difficulties, the product was shipped in a decent time and it came in great shape."

"installation was a breeze except a few steps were in the wrong order. Haven't seen a difference in mpg. I seem to be going through the same amount of gas, but driving a mustang there isn't too many miles i can go (17 mpg). It does give it bigger balls for the car and the driver lol. It sounds great as well."

"The intake system was very easy to install, took me no more than 45 minutes. The new filter adds a deeper sound to the engine and greater response to acceleration and speed. Ive noticed about a 2-3 mpg improvement in my gas mileage. Well Worth It!!"

"Since I've installed this, I've told everyone it was the best hundred bucks I've ever spent. Great performance gains up high, easier to launch low end,bypass valve(blow-off) is more audible, looks great! It's a K&N, you pretty much know you're getting something good with one of these."

"This kit has a ridiculous sound to it. As soon as you punch it you can feel the power and the sound is awesome. Kit looks good as well. Although the installation was difficult. Instructions were difficult to read and the elbow piece from the intake manifold and throttle body requires drilling which is stated no where. Overall the kit looks and sounds good but the installation wasn't quick and easy."

"The cold air intake system was very easy to install. The instructions were very detailed and the pictures were excellent in pointing out areas of interest when installing the system. After having it installed now for approximately 3 weeks, I have been able to see about a 3 to 4 mile per gallon increase in fuel mileage. Which, in an age of $3.50 gas, any little bit helps. Also, upon my initial test drive immediately after the install, I was able to tell a nice boost in HP that was very noticable in the 3000 to 4500 RPM range. The car is also a little bit louder than stock but it is a nice "throaty" sounds now over the stock system and is not by any means annoying. Overall I would highly recommend this product not only for the ease of install and price, but also for the added benefits you receive in the form of increased gas mileage and more HP. You will not be disappointed."
