"I wanted improvement in response, and thats what I got. Shipment arrived in about a day or two. Installation was easy, although I had to run out and buy a couple hose clamps. Runs good, sounds good, looks good. A nice boost to an aging engine, especially in the thin mountain air."

"I bought this intake because I have always heard it's a great addition to any car. Boy were those reviews correct! I'm seeing 3mpg more, and an increased idle response that normally lagged a little...typical Ford problem. All in all, a great value, and an excellent addition to any car, truck, van, or SUV!"

"I installed this system myself on my '03 Civic SI. Extremely easy to install and everything needed was in the package. What a great performance difference it makes. Easily makes the 10 HP claimed and feels like a turbo is kicking in over 5K RPM! Great quality and pricing. I have had other K&N products over the years and have always been pleased."

"I’ve only had the mentioned K&N on my vehicle for a few weeks and so far so good. I haven’t noticed much of a HP increase but then again, when my vehicle already puts out over 300 HP, I’m really not going to notice to much more. I purchased it for the purpose of less maintenance and hopefully better gas mileage."

Throttle Response

"The fit is OK. The brace that mounts on the alternator isn't right for the 02 Ford F150 4.2. It's too short. I had to pad the bracket the holds the intake tube with pipe insulation to get the proper height... after bending it and adding a nut between the bracket and the top of the alternator.. to raise it. Leave everything loose and tighten each section after everything is in place. Throtten response makes this kit worth the money. It's at least a 75% improvement. The feel on accelaration is totally different. No difference on milage. I've had these on 3 trucks and I'd get another one."

"It took about an hour and a half to install. It definately improved the horse power and increased the mileage by 1to 2 mpg. It sounds great too! Glad I got it. Should pay for itself in about 5000 miles.!"

"I have had a couple of these FIPK's before, and this one works fine, but my big dislike is that you have to unbolt the intake tube from the box that surrounds the filter in order to get the filter out to clean it. That is a step I don't look forward to in a few thousands miles. Not sure why this was overlooked by K&N."

63 Series in V8 4Runner

"Excellent installation instructions-took less than 1 hr to install. Although this kit provided increased hp at higher RPMs, part-throttle response suffered, as did low RPM torque. The factory intake has a tuned chamber which provides vacuum to accesories that K&N kit lacks. Also, the "free-air" design draws too much hot air from the engine compartment - they shouldn't call it a Cold AIr Intake. In hot weather the performance diminished even further. After 2 months I removed the K&N kit and reinstalled the factory intake which I modified to remove restrictions while maintaining the "cold" air ducting."

"I installed my new K&N cold air intake about 2 weeks ago and am very happy with the results. The installation took about half an hour and went very smooth. The instructions were clear. I noticed an improvement with the horsepower right away."

More Air Equals More Power

"Although I have been using K&N filters on all of my cars for the last several years this is my first intake kit. I installed it on a 05' 330I w/Performance Package. The increased airflow smoothed out and improved accelleration and fuel economy. There is a noticable increase in power. The BMW factory version of this mod suggests a modest 3 HP gain at over twice the cost. K&N claims 11.46 HP gain on 04' 330I, although I don't have access to a dynamometer I believe my install has at least matched this. Besides all that, it sounds really cool!"

"Got this in about a week ago and added this plus a throttle spacer to my chey silver. 07 and i have to say the horsepower and rpm have definitly gone up. don't know about the gas but i bought it for the power and thats what I'm getting. I did have to buy some bolts because the kit did not come with a few. thats the only down side i got."

"All the items needed are provided and the instructions are OK. Read them thtough first because you'll know where you're headed and it'll go easier as the tool list isn't complete/correct. Looks nice when done and seems to provide power in 3500-5500 range."
