"A must have for any engine. It removes all the clutter of the stock intake and keeps it clean and simple. My only complain (if you want to call it that) is that the screw to hold down the intake broke when I tightened it (didn't tighten it THAT much). I would just recommend to be careful. That said, this is very easy to install (took me 20 min). You can instantly hear this thing sucking air when opening the hood and you will be able to feel it when you hit the pedal. Great product!"

"I liked the little extra power I got from installing hte kit. The one thing I don't like about the kits nad I'm sure that all are the same, is the extra noise that you get with it.
I have more noise comming from the front of the car then the rear.
I'm thinking of mocking up a shroud to damping the sound."

"Noticeable but subtle power increase at high RPM.
Since I am approaching geezerhood I don't burnout much anymore. For me its leaving people at the stop light or passing on the highway. Worth the money I guess.
Only negative: there seems to be a low end vibration. My guess is that the intake house screw is vibrating on the thin metal its secured to in the front of the tube. I will bring it back to the shop and see if they can remedy."

"The intake is awsome!!!! Great sounding and good gains in HP. The only bad part was the installation. It was kinda a pain to have to leave the OEM metal part that holds the radiator tubes and the tube to the air intake from the crank case. I modified it to have a single hose connecting the radiator to the engine. This got the metal OEM housing out of the ways. Makes it look a lot better."

"If you're looking for the sound that usually is accustomed to k & n intakes you might be disappointed for this model car. I think it has to do with the fact that this particular enginge has the super ultra low emissions. You can't tell big difference in sound unless you floor the pedal. Performance wise can't feel a diffence either. Still a K & N fan tho. 3rd car with k & n intake."

"First of all, let me say that I am mechanically "challenged." Having read the reviews posted on autoanything.com about how easy the installation was, I decided to try this myself. Seriously- if I can do it- you can do it. I had an extra set of hands there to help if needed, but I really didn't need anyone. Took me about 2.5-3 hrs to install myself, but if I had to install another one, I could do it in about 90 minutes tops. The directions are clear and everything fit to a 't.' The most difficult part was getting the pipe from the front grille to the new air box. I found it for less $$$ elsewhere, but autoanything met and beat the price with no hassle at all as they said they would. Great company- I will continue to use them (and I don't work there and am not a relative of anyone who does).
Now about the Typhoon itself... bad ass. When you first start the car, there is no real difference in the sound, but when you get it to 3,000 rpm, you hear that cold air start to suck up a LOT of air and the b'ch GROWLS. It got throatier as it broke in (had it for a week and it sounds GREAT now- better than it did after a the first few days). Love it. SOMEWHAT better gas mileage (MAYBE 2 mpg better), and definitely a jump in HP, mostly noticable on the highway and smacking the gas jumping in and out of traffic. Love it. Buy it. You won't be disappointed."

"I installed this CAI on my 5.7 Charger and it sounds really good, almost made me think about not getting exhaust...almost. I am really tracking the MPG to see if that is getting better but I also installed a new program as well so we will see. I think this is a great product, you may be able to find something cheaper but buy this and forget it no hassel no worry plus if you really dont like it, there is a great return policy."

"Installation was a breeze, I did it myself in less than an hour(except I needed my boyfriend to help push the silicone hose to the turbo inlet). I definately notice more power and quicker throttle response. I left on a 1,200 mile road trip the day after installing and had about a 1 mpg increase overall but I was up and down mountains for hours. The only complaint I have is the sound of the air sucking in is crazy loud when my turbo spools on my Subaru. The engine sound was better but the sucking wind overpowered that most of the time."

"I just installed the intake in my 04 RSX and immedietly noticed a gain in power. it sounds alot different (better) in high revs. it gave my RSX a little bit of power and a much better sound. the most significant change i've noticed was the increase in MPG's. i was getting 33 to the gallon, now im getting well over 40, but take in consideration that i drive it gently and use only BP premium. excellent product, very well worth the money, must have. i wish i thought of this sooner. good luck. (stick with K&N, dont let anyone talk you into those cheaper instore rigged products)"

"The kit is well engineered for this car. Part fit and finish is great and it looks good under the hood. Install is not too bad. Easy for a pro or someone who knows their stuff, but challenging to those who don't know what they are looking at when they pop the hood. The included instructions are pretty good if you take the time to read them over and understand everything before you start tearing things apart. It is a bit expensive IMO, but it does produce better gas milage and sound from the car. As for power, just like any non-tuned intake, an increase is not easily felt. Over all it is a good kit and will bring a smile to your face when you see the finished install and take it for a ride. Now thats what matters most and is a great reason to buy any part for your car/truck."

"When seeking out a new intake for my 2003 WRX, I was referred to the K&N Typhoon as a good alternative to the Cobb or SPT. Ordered and received the product. Installation was easy for the mechanic (1 hr total labor to install). The sound of the Intake is very impressive and I've noticed significant gains."
