"Installed this on saturday in a little more time than it took me to put one of K&N's FIPK intake on my F-350. Throttle sounds normal under 2k rpm but once you pass that, it sounds deep and intimidating. I haven't even looked to see if I've been doing better in gas. Who cares?! It's a camry. I'm already getting at least 27 mpg driving almost anywhere. Again, AutoAnything has come through. Not only the cheapest price on the net, the fastest shipping for free. I saved an additional 15% off of a coupon I got from them. Fast, easy, cheap and well worth everything."

Posted on 10/29/2007 by Eric E. - 2005 Scion xB (Mt. Laurel,NJ)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The directions were very detailed and easy to follow. The total install time took 1.5 hours- half of which was spent trying to get the stock air box out. The actual install of the Typhoon took about 20 minutes. Definitely notice an increase in performance and in sound too- a low growling that starts around 2,000 rpms. Not sure about the MPG yet- the improved performance and sound make it tough not to drive it hard. I'd recommend it to anyone- now I need one for my Volvo !"

"For the 2003 Honda Element, it was easy to install. One part ,a grommet was missing from package. K & N overnight-ed the part to me with one phone call. USA quality in each part of this system. More HP and MPG . Well worth the money !"

Easy to install

Posted on 10/25/2007 by Miguel C. - 2003 Mazda Protege (Jupiter,FL)

"I installed a K&N 69 Series typhoon intake system on my 2003 Mazda Protege5 and it was very straight forward and easy. It took me about 1 hour taking it easy and carefully. All hardware was above expectations and fit perfectly. The only minus I can give it is that I did not install the down leg because of concerns with ingesting water. The factory recommends this installation for areas where a lot of rain and puddles are possible. Being here in Florida that is a fact of every day life. When I installed the system in this configuration, the end of the tube where the filter is installed is a little flimsy and I am concerned that typical vibrations might put excessive loads on the bracket that holds the mass flow sensor. I plan to provide a bracket to solve this issue."

Pretty good kit

Posted on 10/18/2007 by Christopher R. - 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse (Sicklerville,NJ)

"The kit was pretty easy to put together. Only problem i had was one of the clamps that came with it was the wrong size, so I had to take one off my stock intake to get it to work. But for the most part it is definitely a very worthwhile upgrade to any car."

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"My 2007 Charger R/t, has never sounded so mean, and reacted with so much furosicty. Gas mileage has improved 2mpg more city, 7 mpg more highway. This baby used to purr now she growls. So responsive now, I have to be careful at the stop lights. Installation was about 30 minutes, including taking out the factory intake. And for the price, you would almost have to be stupid not to get one. Love it."

Not too bad, but nothing special

Posted on 10/14/2007 by Vince M. - 2004 Acura RSX (Millersville,MD)

"Throttle response is increased a bit, but nothing spectacular. No official dyno, but it does not "feel" any stronger than my gutted box setup. VERY easy to install. Sounds much deeper than stock and definitely screams when VTEC kicks in. If you're serious about performance gains, this would NOT be the right intake. If you're just looking for something that's easy to install/maintain and gives better sound, go for any SRI. I only went with this one b/c it was the cheapest I could find. Honestly, I'll probably go back to my prior setup after the winter and sell this one."

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful.

"I would definitely recommend the typhoon intake system to others. The installation was reasonably straight forward, and as for power gains, the difference is noticeable on freeway acceleration. My only complaint would be the noise, the intake was a bit noisier than i would have hoped, yet that is just one con among many pros. Thank you K and N for such a great product."

Matrix Cold Air Intake

Posted on 10/04/2007 by Jerry S. - 2005 Toyota Matrix (Cool,CA)

"I put the K&N 69 Typhoon on my '05 Matrix w/auto transmission; and I did notice a difference. It has more mid range power then it did before. That is I live near the top of a 3 mile 8% grade with one turnout for passing. I used to grit my teeth passing slower traffic in the 25-45mph range, but now no problem even puts you in your seat a little. My wife mostly just noticed that it makes more noise, but she's used to it now. I haven't checked the mileage yet, but haven't notice a decrease."
