04 honda element k&n intake

"easy to install, and i'm not very mechanically inclined. just about an hour to take out oem air intake/filter and installing the k&n. definitely a bit more pickup and a nice throaty sound when you push the throttle hard. at normal cruising rpms, noise is not pronounced, which is nice. small and easy investment for the "toaster.""

Confusing instructions, does what it should

"First off, the install was a bit more of a pain than I expected. The pictures that came with the instructions and some of the labeling threw me off. I'm sure if you've installed other K&N stuff before, then it probably won't be a problem. On the other hand I can tell that my acceleration is a little quicker, my gas mileage has increased, and my car is louder when I get on it. I got the SRI due to the fact that it's necessary to remove your bumper if you get the CAI. Also, I don't want to have to worry about driving my car in the rain. I knew a valve could be used on the CAI to prevent water flowing through the intake, but from what I found those CAIs were no better the SRIs when the valve was used."

"Missing parts & and really tight fit. I was able to improvise with some spare nuts and bolts I had in the garage to get it installed, but I was not happy with missing parts (the soft mount piece was different than the one in the instructions and I had to figure out my own solution to mount it. Slight gain in HP and MPG, and it sounds a bit like a rice burner now. Overall rating: Average"

RX8 K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake

"Installation was simple and took less than 2 hours. I did had to buy a larger hose clamp for the 3-inch clamp that connects to the MAF unit. The one came with the package was just 2 mm short and I could not get the thread to engage. Noise level is about the same at part throttle. There is a good roar at WOT which is perfect for a car like RX8. Not sure about the 10 hp gain as claimed by K&N since I did not dyno before and after. However, a 30 roll to 70 in third gear is now half a second less. I would rate it a 5 star if I did not have to visit Pepboys for thar 4-inch hose clamp."

"This intake was a great investment for my 06 Scion xA RS 3. When they said that you would get a few more hp... i didnt believe it... my engine is much more responsive and it gets up and goes now. Buy it and you will be happy. Jeremy"

"ARRIVED VERY FAST, INSTRUCTION PHOTOS DIFFICULT TO SEE, WAS MISSING 1 BRACKET, WHICH WAS SIMPLE TO MAKE. TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR TO INSTALL, THE HARDEST PART WAS FITTING THE SEAL TO THE COLD AIR SHIELD. LOOKS GREAT ON CAR, IF I INSTALLED ANOTHER, IT WOULD TAKE 1/2 THE TIME."

"I installed the intake myself in about 40 min. Taking it around the block to see how it performed, I got a second gear chirp. A few minutes later I realized the airconditioner was on. That was amasing..... the car is usually a dog with a/c on (2005 lancer 2.0)I...Like...It!!!!!(It's my girlfriend's car, I'll drive it more often now.)"

"I had been waiting for K&N to come out with a typhoon series intake system for my car for a while and when I saw it on autoanything for such a great price, I jumped right on it! K&N is the best and most trusted brand in air filters and intakes. Autoanything. com had the lowest price I could find and you can't beat free shipping. I can really feel the increased horsepower with this kit, as well as the mpg increase, and it has a really great rumble to it when you open up the throtle. The only trouble I had with the installation was that my engine compartment is quite small and the heatshield would not fit. So I had to work backwords and put the heatshield in first, then everything fit as it should. I would reccomend this product to anyone; I am completely and totally satisfied with it. Thanks Autoanything for such a GREAT deal!!"

"love it love it love it... what a difference this product makes after the installation... gas mileage increased dramatically about 10%, and just LOVE the sound when it reaches 3000 and higher RPM, WOW, what a throaty sound, and don't forget the pickup in speed from the increased HP. can't believe i waited so long for this product. thanks K&N."

"the cold air intake system that i purchased gave me roaring sound at 2500 rpms and up. this system gave me a noticable power increase as well, not to mention some needed extra gas milage. i would reccomend this system for just about any car."
