Problems With CEL

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"After installing this, the check engine light won't stop coming on. I think it has to do with the fact that the air filter is oiled and all the oil particles are getting all over the MAF. Seems to be an issue with 2006 Scion xA's."

Extra HP, but instructions leave something to be desired.

Posted on 01/30/2007 by Richard N. - 2003 Pontiac Vibe (Canton,MI)

"I installed the K&N 69 series Typhoon intake in my 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT with 89K miles, which is the vehicle for which the intake was designed. On the positive side, it is working well, giving a noticeable boost in power, especially in the high RPMs. The instructions could have been better. The steps for taking out the stock intake were spot on, but the steps for putting in the new intake were vague in spots, and there were steps that referenced prior steps, but they pointed to the wrong prior step. We were able to figure it out, but it would be nice if the instructions had been better."

typhoon for Honda Element

Posted on 01/18/2007 by Alan N. - 2005 Honda Element (San Antonio,TX)

"Just as advertised. This intake kit bolted on simply and quickly with the instructions. Noticed an improvement in pickup at low speeds and definitely at 4K RPM. If only they made a heat shield to block off the engine compartment. Definitely recommended whether you want to speed or just get around town in traffic."

Great Quality

Posted on 01/17/2007 by Bob G. - 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse (Rochester,NY)

"All the components that came in this package were top quality. Only problem is K&N needs to put 2 larger clamps because there are two places where the clamps that came in the kit were too small. I had a couple big spare claps so it wasn't a problem. Over all the filter, pipe and hoses are really good!"

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Installed on 05 Mazda3 2.0 Excellent product. Very real power gains and I love the intake growl under acceleration. No extra sound at cruising speeds. Kit was missing a bracket which K&N shipped the next day. They said it would be shipped overnight, but it came a week later via ground. Overall very pleased. Autoanything has the best price."

Wouldnt do it again

Posted on 01/11/2007 by Kimberley C. - 2004 Ford Mustang (Cincinnati,OH)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Although K & N Makes a great filter,The quality of this item was not so good.Cheesy material for the flow tube, scratchy polish look not so polished. The should have used a slight bend at the mass airflow connection , but instead its straight and has a slight angle to it .Go with a C & L if you want a quality fit for a 99 to 04 mustang..They could have done better,The silicone version of this is slightly better.Ive had many of mustangs and many differnt parts .Would not recommend this kit,But would recommend the filter!!"

Posted on 01/03/2007 by Dale V. - 2006 Ford Mustang (Acworth,GA)

"Installation would be better if the grommet and hose were installed together. I installed the grommet as per instructions, then installed the system. When the time came to slide the hose into the grommet, the grommet pushed through, this forced me to remove the system, and re-install the grommet, a shot of WD-40 also helps when installing the hose!"

Typhoon Booms

Posted on 12/27/2006 by Don S. - 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse (Windermere,FL)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Killer product from company that knows airflow. K&N has been around for years and specializes in airflow products for all vehicles, and the 69 series is another great example they are at the top their game. I love the fact that unlike many other CAI's it can be either a short ram, or a full length system. Living in wet, rainy Florida there are times when a short ram is a better option. The result is instant, you can feel the extra power and the exhaust note screams. The instructions are simple, vehicle specific, and easy to understand. The only complaint is the pictures are small, and not in color. But if you follow them step by step it'll take about an hour or so to install, depending on your car. Easy install, looks great, instant performance boost, dual set up, and killer million mile warranty all for lees than a similar unit from Injen, or AEM. No question about it the Typhoon Booms."

Great part

Posted on 12/14/2006 by Adam D. - 2002 Subaru WRX (Aurora,IL)

"The K&N intake really helps my WRX breathe easier. Noticably louder than stocker, also helps turbo spool fast with given throttle position because the ECU sees more air coming in, which causes the whole engine process to go faster helping to spin the exhaust side of the turbo. Looks great, noticing small increase in milage as well."
