02 Civic 1.7L performances’ is improved

Posted on 10/14/2006 by Paul E. - 2002 Honda Civic (Huntley,IL)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"To Civic owners: Car is quiet around town and you real can’t tell it’s installed or notice any different in HP. Over 4 thousand RPMs to 7.5 thousand RPMs the car comes to life and has additional kick from the transition from 1st to 2nd gear. Wide open acceleration is very loud and the pitch changes when the VTEC kicks in. Overall I like that its quiet around town and when you want to be noticed or need the extra HP the K&N 69 Series really makes a difference. From the Street: I had a similar Civic try to get in front of me from the intersection, I kicked it and I was able to pull ahead with the extra HP and I was able to intimidate the other driver with the sound from the Typhoon tube. That was fun. I'm also running with Denso Iridium spark plugs. The plugs also increased the HP and my gas millage when from 34 to 37. The K&N Typhoon and Iridium spark plugs work great together."

small hose

Posted on 10/10/2006 by Gary M. - 2006 Acura RSX (New Braunfels,TX)

"It works fine and wasn't hard to install except there were only 2 large hose clamps in the kit instead of 3 and the 2.5 inch hose for the 06 acura rsx sport was too small and too long. Improvised with the existing hose instead. Response is much improved.."

Posted on 09/27/2006 by Paul R. - 2002 Mazda MP-5 (Ephrata,PA)

"I installed the Typoon Intake with no problems. It took me about two hours to install but I am kind of a neat freak and if you are not it could be intalled in less than an hour. I already had the Racing Beat Header and the Borla Sport Dual Exhaust System installed. The Typhoon Intake was the last of my installations. My car was already running strong before the new intake system but now it is even better!!! I would recommend it."

Awesome Product

Posted on 09/24/2006 by Jose P. - 2002 Mazda Protege (San Marcos,TX)

"I didn't have any problems installing my K&N Typhoon Air Intake System. By installing this air intake in my car I have notice an increase in my miles per gallon, more horsepower, and more torque. My car also has become louder and that really sounds great. I can hear the engine growl for more air. I really recommend this awesome product to any import car owner who wants to gain more mpg, horsepower and torque. Now with the help of this complete cold air intake system I can easily pass slow moving traffic on the highway."

Intake for 2005 Volvo S40 T5

Posted on 09/06/2006 by Keith U. (Wernersville,PA)

"The intake made a significant difference in power and engine tone..just what every enthusist is looking for. The increased volume of the turbo spool is pretty neat. Installtion may not be for the average Joe, but along with the greatly detailed instructions and some patience, it should not be a problem. Oh and the best for last..the $$PRICE$$ which was the cheapest I found and I searched for awhile. Kudos to this product - KU"

Mostly good & a little bad

Posted on 09/04/2006 by David M. - 2006 Acura RSX (Westminster,CA)

"BAD: Took a couple wks. to get it (back ordered). I ordered smooth red & they sent me wrinkle finish. 1 large hose clamp missing. GOOD: Sounds meaner. Super easy to install. Runs stronger. Great fit & finish. The people at AutoAnything were very helpful & really went out of their way to answer my questions. I give custermer service a A rating."

K&N Typhoon Intake for 2002 Lancer

Posted on 08/11/2006 by Heather O. - 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer (Phoenix,AZ)

"The instructions were very deatiled and helped alot with installtion. The only problem I had was that it didn't fit exactly where it was suppose to be. Between the raditor hose and battery the filtercharger sits on the hose. This problem has a simple fix, but you have to play with it in order to get it fitted where the diagram of the installation procedures says it goes. Other than that I'm really happy with the product and company, and as always Happy Street Racing."

"I had the Cold Air Intake Kit for 2.0 & 2.3 Duratec and it was very good the problem seem to be that it would pull to much hot air from the engine and it would bog down but with th kn 69 typhoon system you dont have that problem at all and you get alot more power with the kn 69 intake"

What are you waiting for, buy it!!!!

Posted on 07/29/2006 by Paul W. - 2004 Honda CRV (Tamarac,FL)

"Ok, this is such a no-brainer. Although the horsepower isn't significant, the improved gas mileage (sensible driving) is. The sound is phenomenal. It just doesn't sound like a CRV. It has a much throatier sound. I can't wait until I can get a more free flowing exhaust (header and cat-back, not just muffler)to go with it. But that will have to wait until they make one for 2004 models."

"An amazing sound, noticable difference in mileage (when driven responsibly), beautiful look, and added horsepower in the higher RPMS. Certainly worth buying. Looking to buy an exhaust to compliment the intake. A GOOD BUY! One should definatley consider if you are looking for added horsepower, acceleration and a sound that turns heads."
