"I decided to order a cold air intake for my '05 Mazda3S a couple of weeks ago. Once it came to the house, the next day I started working to install it. The intake itself is easy to install, the time consuming part is removing the air filter chamber and the resonator, because the only way to really get to that is to take off the front tire. But once all of the old parts were out, the installation of the intake was a snap. The intake doesn't add a huge amount of HP, but a lifetime filter that you clean vs buying a $50 one every time you turn around.. the savings are plain to see. I recommend this as a great alternative to conventional air filters, plus it's so easy to install.. even for chicks. :)"

"At an idle I really couldn't hear a difference untill I reaved my engine to about 3k rpm. The overall horsepower gain isn't alot but I could tell im getting a quicker acceleration closer to my top end. And in about 3rd and 4th gear my engine has a deeper sound higher in the rpms. Overall i'm very happy with my purchase and can't wait to hook up an exhaust and see how much of a difference that makes."

"It looks good, and the first installation attempt was fairly easy. I say first because, through no apparent fault of K&N, Pontiac chose to mix and match parts (this, the brakes, the airbox...) on the early model G6's. The included adapter elbow (3") was too large for the throttle body (2.75"). I called K&N and they were helpful but didn't have a solution - so I'm ordering a silicone adapter from another site to bridge the gap. Only thing I really wasn't happy with was the fit of the heat shield box around the filter - it doesn't seal the area worth a hoot. Either dig out your welder or order a rain sock for the filter. The engineers at K&N did request that I photo document the install and the issues so they can review and possibly incorporate changes to the instructions / parts list, so they get an A in my book."

"I can say that K&N definately makes sure not to dissapoint any one that purchase their products. I installed the K&N TYPHOON CCAI on my Acura TSX and you can definately feel the difference when you hit it, and the sound is awsome specialy when your hauling ass. The installation is simple enough for any one to install it by themselves all you need are basic tools.overall I'm satisfied with the purchase I made is good enough for me and at good pri$e."

"Autoanything had the least expensive price for this part anywhere on the web, $220 with free shipping. Shipping took about 4 days, so order on a Monday. I have never done anything under my hood before, so it took a little over 2 hours to install. You will need to remove the wheel to do the install, and that was the most complicated thing. The rest is just removing bolts. I also took the battery out. Produces a small "inhaling" sound when car is on. Gets pretty darn LOUD after 4000 rpms, and with out a doubt, gave me a performance increase. Well worth the $$ for those like me who are starting to upgrade their ride. Very very pleased!! It only took about 45 minutes to R&R and I could here the differance as soon as I started the car but I can feel the differance from the stock air box with a drop in K&N. It breaths so much better in the Mile High City. Very happy with the purchace. Jeff (Denver CO.)"

"I have had the K&N SRI for my R18 civic for a few weeks now, and is has definitely been worth every penny. The installation was pretty straight forward, the hardest part being removal of the factory air box. The sound is a world of difference beyond 3k RPMS,(a deep, loud sound) and throttle response has increased slightly. It is a bit to early to tell if gas mileage has been changed significantly. Overall a great product, no CEL at all, and no issues with it. Autoanything processed and shipped the order in a very timely fashion, and the product arrived on time."

"I felt that my Civic 07 was a bit low on performance and hence ordered this part after checking out many reviews. Pre Installation: The parts looked very high quality as such and the installation manual gave very good photographic examples to help you out. Installation: To be fair, I was installing something for the first time in my car and found it a bit time consuming, but otherwise, it's a breeze. I found the Filter clamp a bit too short and had to get a bigger one from a store. Post Installation: The throttle response is now excellent and there is a distinct engine grunt at about 2.5K+ RPM which is music to my ears. Overall, its a great product and I would definitely recommend it to any Civic 06+ owner. I haven't checked the mileage after installation, but the power increment is excellent!"

Still up in the air about the Typhoon

"If I had paid more for the Typhoon, I would have been really upset, but since I got such a good deal on it, I can't really complain. I feel that the element actually has lost some of it's "get up and go". When you gun it, it really feels sluggish, but when you just accelerate, you feel the added power. After 3 tanks of gas, I think I have gained about 1 mile per gallon. For the gain in fuel economy, I guess it was a good buy. I have not ruled out taking it off and going back to stock."

"Put the Typhoon on pretty simply. Opted for the short ram during the wet season here in Houston. You won't believe how much extra stuff is on your car you don't need. Looks Good! Sounds GREAT!!! The wife said, "Oh my God it sounds awesome!" Now she wants one on her car. Miles per gallon went up now over 37! Oh and the added power good plus! Highly suggest it to EVERYONE! Honnestly have NO Negatives about it!"

"I received my kit only a few days after ordering. It was very easy to install and only took about an hour. Most of the time was spent trying to find the right size tools in my mess of a tool box. Should only take about 30 to 40 minutes for the average person. Performance is slightly increased and gas mileage as far as I can tell has too. I love the aggressive sound that it emits when you step on the gas as well. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick add on thats easy on the wallet."
