"Installed the K&N FIPK along with the Power Aide Throttle Body Spacer. Total install time was about 3 hrs with the help of a buddy. I think the instructions could have been a little better, but we didn't have any problems understanding it enough to get it installed. The performance gains were very noticeable. Quicker throttle response and the mid range power gains are awsome. Plus I can really hear my 4.7L breath now. I need some more time to see if there are any fuel mileage imporvments."

2003 dodge ram 5.9L diesel 3500

Posted on 12/08/2007 by Randy G. - 2003 Dodge Ram (Belle Plaine,KS)

"I would have liked it better if the filter was not exposed to the elements (dirt, dust, water, muud).I also had to make a bracket to support the end of the filter. The stud was already there on the filter and they sent a lock nut and washer. The stud that the oem air box was mounted to was a handy place to attach the bracket. I spent about 3 hours installing and checking the clearences which were very close. It is not much louder all I hear is the turbo and the throttle response and fuel milage is much better.. I have not towed with it installed so I do not know what the fuel milage is yet. The empty milage seems to be at least 2-3 mpg. Time will tell............"

BIGGER AIR; BIGGER PERFORMANCE

Posted on 12/07/2007 by Sheldon L. (Coraopolis,PA)

"Tremendous increase in throttle response (especially above 2,500 rpm) brings with it the potential to burn more gas! Definitely not a gas saving accesory; the power doesn't come from thin air. More engine noise under load; mildly abnoxious but acceptable. Gret looking addition to the otherwise blah-black engine compartment. Instructions were complete in terms of sequence; but definitely did not contain all the details and tooling recomendations that were required to do the deed. They could do with a thorough re-write and lots of good closeup photos. Recommendation to K&N: Post them to the web if the cost of reproducing paper is too high. Under-hood experience experience is definitely required to avoid inadvertent damageto both the Intake Kit and the Air Mass Sensor. Recommendation to K&N #2: Lose the clip-on rubber gasketing over the entire perimeter of the intake shroud. Its useful purpose in sealing to the closed hood covers only a fraction of its 4 ft. linear dimension. The rest is a pain to install, especially with the meager instructional details."

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I installed (about two hours) the K&N air intake in my '05 F-250 (6.0 liter) and could immediately feel the increase in power. It just wants to getty up and go now. Still waiting for the increase in MPG though. We'll see how a Superchip does with this new air system. By the way, love the sound of the turbo whine."

"Easy to install with the great instructions. Once completed I crank up my truck and could hear her breathing easy from the start. Close the hood and away I went for a "short" test drive. I didn't make it out of first gear before feeling the difference. Wow what a difference when I hit the highway pedal down. Sounds good and adds power and economy if you can keep your foot out of the equation. Great add on at a great price!"

Works Great!!

Posted on 12/04/2007 by James D. - 2007 Dodge Ram (Portland,OR)

"I got this and put it on a 2007 Dodge Ram with the 5.7 Hemi. The throttle response is better and quicker acceleration. I haven't had a chance to see if there is an increase in gas mileage yet. The only downfall is that it takes longer to put the seal on the box than it does to put the rest of the system in. I highly recommend this especially for anyone with a Hemi."

Good product

Posted on 12/04/2007 by Thomas S. - 2000 Chevy Silverado (Charlotte,NC)

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"The product arrived in good shape and with all parts. I am not a wiz on cars and i was able to get this on with nominal trouble. The dissasebly instructions were good but the assembly instructions took several looks at the pictures and spares instructions to figure out what they were telling me to do. The hardest thing I had was getting the 4" silicone hose onto the plasit intake they provided-very tight fit.In the end it all went together with no trimming of the fan shroud. I have driven it several times and it makes a nice sound under the hood and feels peppier. I have not gone through a tank of gas to see if mileage changed"

series 69-what could be wrong with that!

Posted on 12/03/2007 by Frank M. (Mahopac,NY)

"Installation was a chore. Not because of the k&n portion of the job, but the first removal of the the ford crap! I must say that everything was carefully engineered by k&n, and fit just as the pictures and instructions showed. My mileage is up 2+ miles per gallon and have not yet made any other modifications. One satisfied customer with k&n and the helpful team at AutoAnything!."
