"I had read that changing the air filter on my HHR was a daunting task, so at 36K miles I ordered the K&N kit. The day it arrived, I pulled the HHR into the garage for the installation. 50 minutes later I washed my hands and took a test drive. This was the easiest after market installation I have ever done. So far I've seen better performance and improved mileage. The car even sounds beefier. I would highly recommend it! Now I need to get one for my wife's car . . ."

"Fit and clearance were close, but fit just as described. I can definitely hear and feel a difference. This was installed on a Chevrolet 2500HD with the 6.0 liter. This truck needed some help in the power AND fuel mileage department. I am going to add the Hypertech tuner and hope for at least 2-3 MPG gain between the two. I also have the K&N FIPK and a cat-back exhaust on my wife's Suburban with the 5.3 liter engine. It did make a 2 MPG difference in that vehicle."

No Fuel Economy Increase on 2008 Silverado

"The K&N is great, adds a little to the jump off the line, but in no way increases fuel economy. I have a 2008 Silverado 4x4 and it is equipped with a fuel economy gauge in the dash. The K&N, over 3 tanks of fuel, has not increased the economy even 1/10 of a MPG. DO NOT buy this product with the expectation of increased fuel economy. It ONLY helps with HP, though I am not certain that it increased the stated 19 HP."

"I got this K&N Kit along with the Airaid throttle body spacer and they work excellent with each other! I dont notice much of a mpg increase in the city, but on the highway there is a definite increase in mpg. Although i do have the peddle to the boards in the city. I would recommend this kit to anyone, hands down!"

"This product is a waste of money unless your just putting it on for looks and something to make more noise. It did not increase horsepower or gas mileage unless it showed very little difference if my truck was put on a dyno. I will not ever buy another one for any other vehicle."

"The quality of the unit is very good, far superior to the lingenfelter unit. The directions are not so good. Only one piece gave me trouble, the metal bracket that secures the front of the unit to the frame of the car. I ended up using a plastic fastener. As with all intake units it does whistle a bit between 2000-2500 rpms. The engine and exhaust is noticeably louder. Power? Hard to notice going from 400hp to 410hp. Anyway, I like it."

"There is a much noticeable increase in engine performance, I would say, almost dramatic. I am getting 25 miles to the gallon (Jeep 3.8litre V6, sticker says 19). I am filling up once a week, was filling up about 2x a week before install."

"Good product well designed and fit w/o any problems. It took approximately an hour to install w/o rushing, hand tools only. Installation hint, look at the illustration/part lists, than follow written instructions. HHR is more responsive and a touch louder. Mileage on the open road cruising seems to be approximately 1 to 2 mpg better than stock breather system."

"i installed it on my 2007 dodge caliber rt one night when i was off duty and the only thing that would have made it go faster is if i had done it earlier it gets dark fast at night where im from the appearnce is amazing it sounds so good it was easy to put in it took about half an hour and the best thing is that its k&n the performance is noticible and well worth it"

"I didn't pay attention to the online listing. After it was installed,(very easy) I noticed that the intake is not street legal. You probably shouldn't show up at the dealer for warranty service with it installed and it won't pass smog tests in California, so save the stock stuff. No improvement in mileage. Some performance gain but the intake is very loud. I can't handle the noise at full throttle so I rarely go there. Seems like it was not worth the time, effort and money."

"Installed on an '08 Mustang GT. Took 40 minutes from start to finish, the directions were very accurate and easy to follow. I can tell a slight advantage on low RPM power, but the midrange RPM's are where you tell feel it most...3000 and above. Made a big difference in the exhaust tone when you hammer it too. It's a lot throatier...new word!!"

"Installed with instruction easily; seems to give my 2008 Nissan Titan more horse power but miles per gallon went down. At over 50 years old it really wasn't the hot roding I'm into but the fuel economy I wanted."

"The Air charger works great. The engine has a throatier sound and the car responds much better during acceleration. Haven't had a chance to see if the gas mileage improved but I really don't care, it was well worth the improvement in performance. My only suggestion is that the instructions need to updated to account for some minor engine changes in the later model s2000's."
